"You look beautiful tonight," AJ whispered in my ear as we were dancing.
We were at that party and even though everyone around us were like forty years older than we were, we were still having fun.
"Thank you," I replied shyly.
AJ looked so damn hot in his baggy silver dress pants and silver jacket.
"Hey Melissa!" my boss, Cathy, said coming up to me. AJ and I stopped dancing.
"Hi Cathy," I said,waiting for her to tell me something.
"I just wanted to thank you for coming to my party and mind if I ask your date something?" she asked.
"Sure," I said confused. What could she possibly want to ask AJ? She doesnt even know him.
"I have a eight year old who is in love with you guys and I was wondering if you would mind going upstairs and saying hi to her?" Cathy asked. I smiled. I had no clue Cathy had kids. I didnt even know there were kids in the house.
"Sure, no problem," AJ said.
"Thank you so much! She begged and begged for tickets for that tour you're going on soon and I payed a fortune for her floor seats," Cathy informed.
Ok, thank you for ruining the whole evening. I hadnt even been thinking of AJ leaving in three weeks. I didnt want to think about it at all. I smiled and AJ and I followed Cathy's directions up the stairs and into a room at the end of the hallway.
"Katie?" AJ asked walking into the room. She was silently watching A Goofy Movie (my fav!).
The little girl let out a loud shreik as she jumped up and ran to AJ. She jumpd in his arms and started crying. My face softened. She was so cute!
We stayed up in the room with her and watched the movie for a little while and then walked back downstairs to the party.
~Later
"I love you Melissa," AJ said as we were laying in bed.
I looked up at him and smiled.
"I love you too AJ," I smiled. My knees got weak everytime he told me that and Im glad Im lying down right now. I kissed AJ softly. Just then the phone next to AJ rang. He groaned and leaned over and picked it up.
"Hello?" he asked.
"Yeah," he said after a short pause.
"Oh my G-D! We're on our way," AJ said and hung up the phone.
"What?" I asked worried. AJ jumped out of bed and started putting on the silver pants he had on earlier.
"What?" I asked again after he didnt answer me.
"Get dressed," he ordered. I got out of bed and put on jeans and a sweater. I put on my black boots and AJ was impatiently waiting for me by the door. We rushed out of the apartment. I grabbed my purse and keys.
My car was the closet, so we got into my Civic and began to drive out of the complex.
"The hospital," AJ told me.
"What happened?" I asked scared.
"Nick and Megan were in an accident. Megan's ok, she's the one that called me," AJ said. I was shocked.
