Chapter One

I walked out of Sears, my arms full of bags from my day of money spending shopping and glanced at my watch.

"No!" I muttered.

It was 1:50 and I was supposed to meet my boyfriend at the food court that was at the other end of the mall, at 1:35. This was definitely not something good to do since my boyfriend, Shawn, and I weren't exactly on great terms.

I muttered a few words to myself and realized, I needed to hurry.

I was young, only 20, and full of energy, so, I could easily make it to the foodcourt in about a minute. If, I ran. I took off full speed, in hopes of saving my three year romantic relationship.

My sprint was interrupted by me running in to someone. Figures. My things went flying across the tile next to me, and I collided onto the floor. Can you say, embarrassment? The person I had bumped into, also landed across from me. I gathered my bags and hurriedly shoved my Victoria Secrets purchases back into their rightful bag. A hand was extended to help me up and I took it and hoisted myself to be looking into the eyes of a young man.

A very, very, good looking man. Okay, so he was hot. He wasn't very tall, only about 5'8 (tall compared to my 5'4), nice build, a chestnut shade of brown, and blue eyes to die for.

"I am so sorry." I apologized. I couldn't keep myself from looking into his eyes.

"No problem. I should've been looking where I was going." he said. His voice was so beautiful. It was soft, soothing, and it had a southern accent to it. He smiled, he had an amazing smile.

"Well, um, sorry again." I stuttered.

"Don't mention it." he replied.

I waved and began walking down the mall this time. I was shaking slightly.

I don't know if it was because I had just fallen in front of a bunch of people or maybe it was the fact that I felt electricity between me and that guy. I finally was at the food court and found Shawn sitting at a table in front of Chik-A-Fila.

"I thought you stood me up." Shawn greeted, as I sat down across from him.

"No, I leave that to you." I immediately regretted saying that. We were having it rough time as it was.

Shawn sighed, "I don't feel like fighting, Julia. I think we've done enough of that."

"Yeah, we have." I agreed.

"Are you hungry?" he asked, looking around.

"Not really." I said.

"Me either." Shawn said. He grabbed my hands and held them in his. I smiled at him. We were trying so hard to get things back to the way they were. I moved my blonde hair out of my blue eyes with a slight flip of my head. Shawn leaned in and kissed me on my lips, softly.

I thought I was going to cry. There was nothing between us anymore. I could tell he knew it too.

"I want to work this out." he whispered.

"Me too." I said. I gripped his hand tighter, trying not to cry. I bit my lip.

"I think the only way to do that, is to spend time away from each other. See other people. Only for about a month or so. We'll appreciate each other more." Shawn explained.

I just nodded, in fear that if I spoke, my tears would just crash down. He gave me a kiss, "I've got to go. I'll see you later." He said. I just nodded and smiled.

My heart was breaking and he didn't even realize it. I grabbed my bags and rushed out of the mall. Tears streaming down my face. I went to unlock my door of my 1999, silver, BMW, when someone spoke to me.

"Are you okay?" asked a familiar voice.

I spun around and gasped. I was face to face with they guy I had bumped into. I opened my backdoor and threw my bags in the back-seat.

"No." I managed to say.

"Are you going to be okay to drive? You look pretty upset. I could loan you my cell phone to call someone. I'd offer to drive you home, but I doubt you're comfortable with that." he suggested.

I smiled, he seemed so sweet. "No thanks. I'll be okay."

"All right. Just making sure. I'm Brian. We've been bumping into each other so much I figured I should introduce myself." he said.

I smiled and shook his hand, "Julia."

"Nice to meet you, Julia. Well, I hope you feel better. I hate it when pretty girls cry." Brian commented, "And by the way, nice car."

I looked over and saw he was parked next to me, and his car was identical to mine, but only in blue.

I laughed, "Yeah, yours too. Nice meeting you." I said, and hopping in my car. We waved and drove off. I think I had a slight attraction to him.

"What am I thinking?" I muttered, "I don't even know him, and I love Shawn."
