Chapter Seven

I had been dating Brian for about three weeks. I can't say we're serious, but I can say I've completely fallen for him, and there's no way around it.

Brian was going to come over later on and I was going to clean house and get ready. I looked around my house to decide where to start, and I immediately knew where. The picture stand. I went over to it and unlocked the back to begin. I slowly took out the top picture, wincing at first. I still had slight feelings for Shawn. Then, as I took each one out, one at a time, it became easier. Finally, all the pictures were out, and I wasn't sure what to do with them. I couldn't trash them, so I decided to put them in a shoe box, and put it in the top of my closet.

I did that and then began cleaning, all the things that was Shawn's, or painful memories of him, I either threw it away, or put it in a box in the top of my closet. I was done with my house cleaning easily. And next project, me.

I cleaned up, and then put on black cargo pants and a pink tank top. Comfortable yet flattering.

Brian showed up, right on time. I greeted him with a modest kiss and then ushered him inside. Dinner was cooking (Chicken Cordon Bleu and salad). My kitchen table was set for 2, and a deep red table cloth cascaded over it. Two tall candles were waiting to be lit and towered on the table.

"You look beautiful tonight." Brian complimented, looking me up and down.

"You don't look so shabby yourself." I replied. Brian looked good. He had on dark blue Tommy jeans, and a tight fitting white shirt. Just looking at him sent shivers down my spine.

"What's on the agenda for tonight?" he asked, plopping down on my couch.

I sat next to him and got comfortable, "Dinner and a movie."

"What's for dinner and what movie?" Brian questioned, looking over to the bare spot of where the picture stand used to be.

"Chicken Cordon Bleu and salad, and I rented some movies and whatevers in my video collections. So, I guess whatever you want to see." I said.

"Ahhh. Sounds good to me. I love Chicken Cordon Bleu." Brian announced.

"Speaking of, I need to go check on it." I went to go check on it and it was done. I put everything on the table and told Brian it was done. The two of us sat across from one another, eating and talking, mainly about nothing.

After dinner, we decided on a movie to watch. After careful evaluation and consideration, we decided on While You Were Sleeping. We moved to my room to have more place to sprawl out and began to watch the movie.

Brian had his arms around me and was cuddled close to me. I could hear his heart beating. It was a nice feeling. I ended up falling asleep during the movie, and waking up at the credits, I turned over and Brian looked over.

"Morning sunshine." he whispered.

I giggled, "Hi."

He rubbed my cheek with the back of his hand, and it tickled. I smiled and scooted closer to him.

"I'll never break your heart." Brian breathed.

I jumped and sat up. That's the exact same thing Shawn had said to me, after three weeks of dating. I stood up and ran my hands through my hair, tears coming to my eyes.

Brian sat up and gave me an inquisitive look, "Did I say something wrong?"

I flinched, what do I say?

"Well... not really you? It's kinda hard to explain..." I began.

"Do explain." Brian replied.

"It's like déjà vu'. I've had someone say that to me before. And they lied." I answered.

"Oh, Julia. I am so sorry." Brian apologized, standing up and wrapping me in a huge hug. My tears began to fall, and I didn't want him to let go.
