Chapter Eight

Howie:

"Hey Howie! How did the gameshow go?" Jennifer asked as I walked into her house.

"Fine. AJ picked a nice girl," I told her.

"Thats good," she nodded.

"Yeah, he's probably getting ready now to go out with her. We all left as soon as the show was over," I told her.

"Well, for his sake, I hope everything turns out well," she smiled.

I smiled back and sighed. The only thing I wanted was someone who listened, like Jennifer. I could never date Jennifer, though. It would be way too weird.

"Howie, you'll find someone that fits you. Someone that listens, cares, and loves you for you and not what you do," Jennifer assured me.

"I know," I mumbled.

"Hey my cousin Adrienne just called. She's going to be stopping by. She didnt have a lot of time to explain why she was in Orlando, but do you want to hang out? She's going to stay the night and go back to Tampa tomorrow," Jennifer told me.

"Sure, might as well. I dont have anything else to do," I shrugged.

"Great," Jennifer exclaimed.

Just then the doorbell echoed throughout the house.

"So soon?" I asked smiling.

Jennifer jumped up and rushed to the front door.

"Hey Robert!" I heard her exclaim. Robert would be her boyfriend. He was an alright guy.

"Howie, look who's here," Jennifer announced walking into the living room. Robert right behind her.

Adrienne:

"Thanks for dropping me off at my cousins. I just remembered she lived close and when I called she invited me to come over and stay the night," I said as Lexi drove down the street.

"Its no problem," Lexi shrugged.

"I wonder what Micki is wearing tonight," Leah suddenly said.

"Oh my goodness, I didnt even think of that," Megan said frowing.

"She'll be ok. She wont wear something stupid," I assured everyone.

"Yeah," they all looked relaxed. I had to laugh. It was funny the way they were all so concerned for Micki about what she was going to wear.

"There! That house," I said pointing to the house my cousin told me was hers.

Lexi pulled into the driveway and I got out of her car.

"I'll call you guys tomorrow," I told them.

"Bye!" they all called. I waved as I walked up to the front door. I rang the doorbell and waited silently and almost impatiently for the door to open.

Finally, the door opened and Jennifer stood before me.

"Adrienne!" she shreiked.

"Hi!" I exclaimed. We gave each other a huge hug and she ushered me inside.

"Come, to the living room," she ordered. I followed her to the living room.

"This is Robert, my boyfriend," she introduced.

"Hi, nice to meet you," I smiled shaking his hand.

"And this is my best friend, Howie," she introduced.

I sucked in my breath. He was amazingly cute and I couldnt help but find myself attracted to him. His eyes were dark brown and big and round and his lips were so tempting...

Leah:

"Jump around," I sang to the radio.

"This song is about old," Lexi commented.

I ignored her and continued to sing. I looked out the window and stared onto the endless interstate.

"Well, I really hate to say this, but I have to pee, really bad," Megan said from the backseat.

"So do I," I agreed.

"Me too," Lexi nodded. She switched lanes and pulled off the interstate into one of those rest stops. We all jumped out of the car and rushed to the bathrooms.

"I look just peachy," I commented as I looked at myself in the mirror as I washed my hands. My hair was everywhere but in place and my eyes had dark circles underneath them. It was obvious I was exhausted.

"Well, ladies. Let's get ourselves a drink and we'll be on our way," Lexi said.

"Ok," we agreed. Megan got a Pepsi, I got diet Pepsi, and Lexi got a Sprite.

Finally we were back on the road.

"I miss Chad," I blurted out.

"Dont say that," Lexi ordered.

"Well I do," I sighed.

"No, you just miss having someone," Lexi corrected me.

"Maybe," I shrugged.

"What you need to do is just date some guys, get to know new people and see who you get along best with. Find out what kind of person you want to be with. Instead of jumping into a relationship," Lexi advised.

I nodded and looked out the window. I just want someone to love me.

Kevin:

"I have to find out who that girl was," I told AJ. I was sitting at the bar, watching AJ get himself a drink. He was fixing to leave to go pick up Micki. "A girl I saw in the audience. She was hot," I replied.

"Good luck," AJ laughed.

"So, where are you and Micki going out tonight?" I asked.

"We're going out to dinner and then we're going clubbing," AJ told me.

"Camera?" I asked.

AJ rolled his eyes and nodded.

"She seems like someone I definitly want to get to know and its going to be hard to do that when a camera is in our face the whole freaking time," AJ said.

"That sucks," I shrugged.

"Yeah," AJ agreed.

"Well, you have to tell me what happens," I ordered AJ, standing up.

"I will," AJ told me.

"Well, man. I will catch you later. You have to leave in 10 minutes anyway," I said walking to the door.

"See you later man," AJ called as I walked out of the house.

I walked to my door, only the one vision of that girl in my mind, cheering Micki on. Wait, what if she was good friends with Micki? Ok, Micki is my new best friend.

I began to drive to my house, with only one thing on my mind. Finding more out about that girl.
