Chapter Twelve

"You guys were a great crowd! Have a good night!" I said waving as I ran off the stage. I couldnt stop looking at Howie through the whole concert. I had picked him immediatly through the whole crowd.

I ran back to the tent, grabbed my purse and went to find Howie.

"Marissa, you need to be in the studio, 10 am, no later," my manager ordered.

I walked off and saw Howie standing in the front of a huge crowd.

"Howie," I called waving.

"Hey beautiful," he said as I ran up to him.

"Marissa, can I have your autograph?" a little girl asked.

"Of course," I said bending down. I took her pen and paper and signed my name for her.

"Would you mind taking a picture with her?" her mother, Im figuring asked. "Not at all," I said. I put my arms around the little girl and we smiled for the camera.

"Come on Howie," I said. He took my hand and we rushed away from the crowd.

"So, what do you want to do?" I asked.

"Let's just sit on the beach," he suggested.

"Ok," I agreed.

We went down to a secluded area of the beach. There was absolutly no one around.

"Marissa, I wanna tell you something, and I think it's about time to tell you," Howie said turning to me.

"What's that?" I asked.

"Um, I uh, have a kid," he stuttered.

"Samantha?" I asked confused.

"No, she's my neice, I mean I have another child," he said.

"Um, ok," I said.

"Ok, see, about three years ago, I met this girl and we hit it off really well. She was a really nice woman and beautiful too," he rambled on.

"Ok," I said getting a little jealous about the description.

"Well, you see we dated for a few weeks and things got intimate and she got pregnant," he told me.

I didnt know what to say, what do you say to that?

"So, I did what I thought was right. I proposed. Well, she didnt think it was so right and the only thing I ever got from her were pictures and the only thing she would ever let me give her or the child was a monthly child support check," he explained.

"What's it's name?" I asked, a little shocked.

"Stephanie," he answered.

"A girl. Did you love her?" I asked.

"Stephanie?" he asked.

"The mother," I said.

"Yeah, I still do," he said looking away.

I dont know why, but jealousy was written all over my face and Im not the type of person to get jealous over anyone. I didnt like the whole thing.

"Well, Im finally going to meet my daughter for the first time and I want you to go with me," he said.

"Why me?" I asked.

"Because I really like you Marissa and I want to make sure Lisa knows Im moving on. The greatest accomplishment that woman thinks she can do is make my life miserable. You are the first woman Ive let myself feel attracted to," he told me.

"Well, Howie, if you want me to go, I will," I nodded.

"Thank you so much, Marissa," he said smiling.

"So, when do you meet her?" I asked.

"Tomorrow at 10."
