Chapter Three

"So, what is everyone getting?" I asked looking around at everyone who was sitting at the table.

"Marissa, we havent even looked at the menu," Leah laughed.

"Oh," I shrugged.

I already knew what I wanted. A big burger with lots of fries and a big glass of Dr.Pepper.

I was sitting next to Leah and Samantha.

"Do you know what you want?" I asked looking down at Samantha.

"Whatever you're having," she told me.

"Aww, you like burgers?" I asked smiling.

"Yep," she grinned.

"Cool," I said.

I looked at Howie, who looked like he was already done choosing what he wanted.

"What about you, what are you getting?" I asked, smiling.

I couldnt get over his beautiful eyes and his body was so amazing. He was so sweet too. Everything his neice said, he looked down at her and just smiled, which melted my heart.

"Same thing," he laughed.

"Well, it looks like we've got something in common," I said.

He smiled and looked at me, a second longer than normal and my heart started beating incredibly fast.

After we ordered we all started talking.

"Hey Marissa, guess who I ran into the other day," Leah giggled.

"Who?" I asked, curious.

"Remember Manda?" she asked.

"Manda Panda?" I asked, unsure.

"Yeah," she nodded.

"No way!" I exclaimed.

"Yeah, she barely recognized me," she told me.

"Wow, did you two talk long?" I asked.

"No, just a simple hey and how are you doing, and everything," she answered.

"Wow, that's weird," I said scrunching my nose.

"I know, I thought so too," she nodded.

"So, tell me about yourself," I said looking at Leah's boyfriend.

"Well, what do you want to know?" he asked.

"What's your name?" I asked laughing.

"Shawn."

"Where do you work?"

"Im a lawyer."

"Cool, how long have you been doing that?"

"A few years, not long though."

"You really like it then?"

"It has its ups and downs."

"How long have you two known each other?"

"Three years."

"Wow, when did you guys start dating?"

"About four months ago."

"Aww, that's so cute."

"What about you. Who are you with?"

I frowned and looked down at the table, "No one."

"No one? Why?" he asked.

"You cant find someone that really likes you for you. I have to be careful, or I might get hurt," I told him frowning.

"Im sorry," he said sympathetically.

"It's ok," I shrugged.

"Here are your drinks," the waitress said setting down our drinks. I took a big swallow of my Dr.Pepper and smiled.

"Are you Marissa Daniels?" the waitress whispered to me.

"Yeah," I nodded.

"Would you mind signing this for me?" she asked.

"Sure," I said, signing a piece of paper for her.

"Thanks, my daughter loves you," she smiled.

"Aww, thanks," I said, blushing.

She walked off and I looked at the group.

"So, Samantha! Tell me, what grade are you in?" I asked.

"Im in kindergarten," she answered proudly.

"Wow! What's your favorite thing to do at school?" I asked.

"Read," she smiled brightly.

"Really? Would you read me a story?" I asked.

"I dont have a book silly," she laughed.

"Well, if I get you a book, will you read it to me?"I asked.

"Yeah," she exclaimed.

"Cool!" I said.

"You're really good with fans," Howie commented.

"I try. Ive seen people treat their fans like crap. I dont understand why you would want to treat anyone like they're lower than you. I try to be as nice to my fans as can be," I said smiling.

"Thats really cool," Howie nodded.

"So, Howie, tell me something about you," I said leaning on my elbow.

"Well, like what?"I asked.

"How old are you?" I asked.

"Twenty-six, you?" he asked.

"Twenty. What do you do for a living?" I asked.

"I work for a radio station and I take care of my neice," he answered.

"You take care of her?" I asked.

"Yeah, her parents died a few years ago," he answered.

"Oh my goodness," I said. That poor girl!

"Yeah," he said looking down.

"How? If you dont mind me asking," I said.

"Not at all, they were in a car accident," he replied.

"That must've been so hard on Samantha," I said looking down at the little girl who was reading the menu.

"Yeah, she couldnt understand why her mommy and daddy weren't coming home. It broke my heart," he answered.

"That's so sad," I said, I think I felt my heartbreak for this little girl. I dont know what I would do if anything like that happened to my parents. My parents! I totally forgot to meet them!

"Oh jeez!" I said pulling out my cell phone. I dialed my mother and father's phone number.

"Hello?" my mothers voice answered.

"Mom!" I exclaimed.

"Hey darling. We couldnt make it out to Orlando, somethings wrong with the car, I dont understand when your father talks about it," she told me.

"Oh, jeez, I thought I forgot to meet you guys, I am so sorry," I laughed.

"It's ok hon. When do you leave Orlando?" she asked.

"Well, last night was the last night of the tour,"I answered.

"Oh, well, then you can come to Tampa and spend some time with us," she told me.

"Of course I will Mom," I told her.

"Ok, good," I could tell she was smiling.

"Well, Mom, Im at dinner, so I will call you later," I said.

"Ok hon. I love you," she told me.

"I love you too Mom," I replied.

"Bye."

"Bye."

I hung up and looked at Howie and laughed.

"You going to Tampa?" Leah asked.

"Yep,"I nodded.

"Good, then you can spend time with everyone," she said.

"Yeah, I miss everyone," I agreed.

Maybe since Im not on tour anymore, I can spend some time on getting to know Howie and Samantha.
