Micki looked around the room. Emotions crowding her mind. She didnt know what to think, feel, or speak. She was in the hospital waiting room. She looked over at Megan and Nick clinging to each other, expressionless. Kevin and Adrienne were arguing about something or another, as usual. Howie and Alexis were talking calmly in the corner or the waiting area. Micki clutched A.J.'s hand.
All of her friends were present, except LaDawn and Brian, for she was the reason we were in the hospital. She was having her baby. It was seven months after LaDawn announced she was pregnant. And eight months after Micki and AJ were engaged.
"Micki, LaDawn is asking for you," LaDawn's mother said walking into the waiting area.
"Ok," Micki jumped up, kissed AJ's lips softly and followed LaDawn's room. Micki walked in, not knowing what to expect.
LaDawn lay on the bed, breathless. She looked so tired. Micki walked over to her bed. The labor was over. The nurse was cleaning her brand new baby.
"Hey sweetie," Micki said kissing her forehead.
"Hey," LaDawn replied looking up at Micki. Brian walked into the room, his face glowing, Micki could almost see herself in his face.
"Congragualtions, Bri," Micki said smiling.
She hugged Brian as he leaned down and kissed LaDawn. LaDawn smiled up at him, you could tell she was so in love with Brian. Micki was so happy for them.
"What did you have?" Micki asked.
"A girl," Brian boasted.
"Aww... what's the name?" Micki asked.
"Arica Marie," LaDawn answered.
"I cant wait to marry you," Brian told LaDawn.
They decided to wait to get married, LaDawn didn't want to marry when she was pregnant, so they decided to wait until after the birth of their first child. You could tell Brian was just as excited, if not more, as the rest of us. He was so happy when they found out LaDawn was pregnant.
Micki and AJ were planning on getting married within the next six months. It was all overwhelming for all of this to be happening, so close together.
The nurse brought in Arica, smiling.
"Aww!" Micki exclaimed.
"Here you go Mom," the nurse said handing LaDawn her baby. LaDawn smiled down at her daughter. She then handed it to Brian. He shut off the rest of the world as he looked into the eyes of the one girl, besides her mother, that grabbed his heart and would never let go. Brian looked at Micki and handed her the baby.
"Hi sweetie," Micki smiled down at the baby. This is something she wished she could experience for herself.
