Micki frantically ran around her house calling for AJ. Tears were streaming down her face. What if something happened to him? Her heart pounded with fear and her body shook.
She looked out in the garage to see his car was still there. No, this wasnt happening, it couldnt be happening.
She picked up the phone and dialed Nick's number. It seemed like an eternity as she waited for someone to pick up the phone, when really it was only two rings. She jumped when she heard Nick's voice answer.
"Nick!" Micki exclaimed.
"Micki?" he asked worried.
"Nick, do you know where AJ is?" she asked, her voice trembling.
"No, I left your house about an hour ago," Nick told her.
"Damnit!" Micki shouted.
"Micki whats wrong?" Nick asked frantic.
"Nick, I saw Matt and his mother today in the mall and I am just so afraid they did something to AJ," Micki cried.
"Oh my...," Nick said.
"I dont know what Id do if they did something to him," Micki cried.
"I'll be right over Micki," Nick said and hung up. Micki turned off the phone and leaned her head up against the wall and cried.
"Baby, whats wrong?" AJ said walking into the kitchen. Micki jumped and screamed at the same time. She turned around and was face to face with AJ.
She threw her arms around his neck and cried, until she couldnt cry anymore. AJ waited until she was calmed down to ask what was wrong with her.
"I saw Matt and Maggie today," Micki said, her heart still pounding rapidly in her chest.
"Oh my God, baby," AJ said holding her tighter.
"I was so afraid they did something to you, because you werent home and your car was here," she sobbed.
"Baby, I promise I wont leave you, ever," he told her, looking into her eyes.
"I cant believe hes out of jail," Micki said as AJ walked her to the couch.
"Baby, everything will be ok," AJ promised her.
"I cant go through with this," Micki said.
"I know, baby, I promise, I'll protect you," AJ told her. Micki nodded as she curled up in AJ's lap and fell asleep in his embrace. She slept peacefully in his arms. When she woke up, she was in the bed, AJ's arms wrapped tightly around her body.
She looked up and saw that AJ was still sleeping. She nuzzled closer to him as she inhaled his sweet scent. She never wanted to leave his side, ever.
