     About Me

(Kasmer Kenneth Kuri)

I was born in Bellaire, Ohio on Jan 20,1944. I was raised by my grandparents in Jacobsburg, Ohio. I have very good memories of them. Went to elementary school in Stewartsville and Neffs, Ohio.
Spent most of my life in Wheeling, WVA, which I consider, "back home".
My Father was a coal miner. He worked in the mines at very young age.

My Mother was a nurse. Later on was a bar owner in Wheeling, West Va. That was when it was a wide open town.

I Have 1 Brother 2 years younger than me. He worked at landscaping, most of his life.

I've been married twice. Last divorce was final in Oct 16, 1997.
I have 6 grown kids, 5 from the 1st marriage.
I have four Daughters and two sons.
Raised my family in Wheeling, West Va.

I enjoy kids, now have 10 grandkids and one on the way.

I worked as a carpenter most of my life. Most of the time self employed. Worked at it for over 30 years.

I Like camping, fishing, walking on the beach, up north I loved the woods,
and of course the computer.
I like reading poetry and some short stories.
I prefer Country Music, some light rock.

My Favorite Flower is a Yellow Rose.

.    I have a serious side. I don't like games or lies. I'm pretty straight forward.
     I
Like people that can talk to me. Like honesty and compassion.

I came to Florida Jan of 1998.

Living With The Wolf.

I was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus in 1995. A very strange disease to say the least. Seemingly invisible at times. Unpredictable, non curable, but treatable to a certain extent. Steroids and Antimalarial. drugs are commonly used. It is a chronic illness. An immune disease

Different from the well known AIDS, where the immune doesn't work, with LUPUS it works to well.

You can't catch it from anyone. It's very hard to diagnose, and DR's tend to look the other way when it's a man. It took over 10 years for my diagnosis. Many times your symptoms seem to mimic other diseases.

(See Blood Test)

Described by many as an invisible disease. Many people that have lupus show no outer signs.

Many DR's refuse to test a man for it.
Women get the disease 8-10 times more frequent than do men. None the less, there are over 250,000 men in the US with the disease.

More people have Lupus
THAN AIDS, CEREBRAL PALSY, MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS, ANEMIA, AND CYSTIC FIBROSIS all combined.
