Being extremely tired is common in people with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), even when no other symptoms of active disease are present. The fatigue of lupus isn’t just being tired. You may feel so fatigued that it interferes with most of your day to day tasks. You may not be able to do your every day routine. many have severe symptoms that can keep them from working, caring for your family and home, or participating in social activities. The exact cause of this fatigue is not known.
Caring For Yourself
Getting enough sleep is very important. You may need
more than were normally used to getting.
Make time for rests during the day. Don't try to do
more than you feel comfortably doing.
Try to make time for some physical activity. You need
this to help you keep some strength and keep your muscles working properly.
Try to plan things and stick to it.
Make sure you physically up to doing tasks you've
planned. If you get extremely tired, quit and rest. You can try to slowly
build yourself back up.
Don’t try to large job all at once. You can always
go back.
Eating has been a problem for me. I learned to eat
smaller meals, snack if I have to when I am hungry.
Dealing with stressful issues and problems takes a lot of energy. If you feel stressed out, talk with your doctor or nurse. They may be able to provide you with help for your problem or direct you to someone else who can.
