Bound and Broken Pt.2
Rae had arrived back in the village, breathless. She was confused about what she had seen. Had Loa gone willingly? And where had she gone? She tried to regain her composure, and thought, should she go talk to someone? Tell them what she had seen? For some reason, she decided against it, and looked around the village proper. The village was quiet now, and night was settling upon it. She walked to her hut and decided to think.
*******
Back in the manor, in Japan, sat Loa, deep in meditation. Deep in her thoughts. She was clearing the cobwebs that had grown on her instincts. She had tried to hide them… She had wanted to forget all about her past when she had arrived on the island… She thought that her past was the worst thing about her life. She now realized she was wrong.
Suddenly, she was shaken back to reality by a gloved hand. Her master stood above her. He smiled evilly, and looked upon Loa with some strange happiness in him. He was truly glad she had returned. Another weapon in his arsenal. Loa's face was now stone. She was cold as steel inside. She was back.
"Yes, Master Ni?" she asked softly.
"Loa, I need you to go somewhere." His eyes flashed as they always had, when he was about to send her on a mission.
"Yes?" she said, quietly. In this state, her mind was calm and focused on one thing… Death. Her voice exuded a state of forced and carefully maintained calm, and yet the anger could still speak volumes.
"Go to Lord Godo's land. Destroy it all. I know of your capabilities. Kill them all." He said, as if ordering food, not hundreds of lives to be sacrificed.
In some part of Loa's mind, a single voice rebelled against her will. "Stop!" the voice cried. "Don't do it!" But then the force of Loa's will struck it down and the voice became silent… Nonexistent once more.
"Yes master." Loa said, her voice evil in its persuasion.
She got up to begin her journey.
"Here," her master thrust a scroll into her hands. "The teleportation spell. Use it."
"Thank you, master." Loa said, and bowed slightly. She read the scroll over once, and then she remembered being taught it years ago. Another thing she had forgotten during her Amazon "training." More like creampuff training. No matter. She was back…
She closed her eyes, and muttered the words. When she opened them, she was in a snowy landscape. Winter in Japan was beautiful. A truly good time to kill. She drew her daggers and prepared to attack.
*******
Blood blossomed on the pristine white snow like a horrible red flower that marred the perfect surface. Loa stood above a man, one of her daggers covered on blood. The other was raised high, about to be brought down upon another man…
Rae snapped into consciousness. The dream had been too real… A vision? Maybe… She looked around. The first gray light of dawn was seeping through the thatched roof of her hut. She thought about the vision… If Loa was really doing these things, then she had to tell someone. She had to find a way to Loa… To figure out what was going on.
Rae stood and walked from her hut. She hurried to the Queen's hut and was about to barge in, when she stopped midway. She wondered if this was the best decision. During her contemplation, Corde walked by.
"Hey Rae! Early day in the Java Hut!" she said cheerfully. She noticed the look of worry on Rae's face, and concern kicked in. "Is something wrong?"
Rae looked up. Her soul was too heavy with the shock of the vision to hide the events anymore. Rae opened her mouth, then closed it, and then finally decided to tell the story.
When she had finished, Corde stared at her, agape. "We have to go tell the Queen!" she yelped, and then grabbed Rae's arm and dragged her inside.
Later…
The Amazons now gathered around the village square. Everyone had an idea of the events that had transpired, but no one knew what the Queen was planning. She had retired to her hut to size up the situation. Soon, she emerged, a serious look on her face.
"Amazons." She said, coming to the crowd of people.
The Amazons turned to their Queen, eager to hear her decision.
"I have decided, that Loa is now our responsibility. We have to take care of this problem… One way or another." She swept a glance around at the crowd of shocked faces that greeted the comment. The Queen turned to Rae. "Rae, you were the one who brought Loa to this island. Although, you and her were good friends, and I fear that emotions will get in the way, I have decided to put you in change of this operation. You may choose two people to join you on your quest."
Rae bowed solemnly. She glanced at the Amazons, and thought. Who would be best to take? Her eyes met with the site of Corde. She had told Corde the story first, and she had been a friend of Loa's… Perhaps she should come?
"Corde?" Rae asked, hesitantly.
"I'll come." She replied, her eyes cast to the ground. Obviously something was weighing her mind down… But Rae could not worry about that now.
Rae thought again… Who should she take as the second person? Preferably someone who could fight…
Instead, Tama raised his hand. "Can I come?" he asked. "I never get to go anywhere anymore!"
The whole of the tribe turned and fixed him with a serious look. "Tama, this is SERIOUS." Saran muttered, and jabbed him in the ribs with an elbow.
"I am serious. I want to come and help." He said.
Rae didn't care. "Fine Tama! Let's just go." She muttered. And then she turned to Corde, who was now looking up, a strange look in her eyes.
The Queen turned to the three of them. "Good luck and Gods speed. Since this is an emergency, I will allow you to use the portals." The team nodded solemnly, and the Queen led them to the portal.
The three entered and soon found themselves in the woods, facing a clearing. None other than Loa stood in the clearing, surrounded by bodies.
