Chapter Two

“Now, you have everything, right?” my mother asked for the hundredth time.

“Yes, mom,” I sighed.

“Ok, well, I guess I will see you later,” she frowned, tears glistening in her eyes.

“Stop Mom, you’re making it harder,” I whispered. She grabbed me and pulled me into a hug.

“I love you so much,” she said.

“I love you too,” I said.

“Have a nice trip,” she sniffled.

“Ok, I’ll miss you. I will call you when I get there, ok?” I asked.

“Ok,” she nodded. I looked over at Scott and it made me even sadder. I know that when I come back, my mother is still going to be here and I’m going to be able to talk to her and not worry about any breakups or anything, but Scott...

“Come here,” he said, pulling me into a hug.

“God, I love you so much,” he said, looking into my eyes.

“I love you too,” I smiled.

“Don’t you go off finding some hot dancer and running off with him, you hear? I want you all for me when you come back, ok? And, I will go visit you,” he smiled. I nodded.

“The same goes for you,” I smiled.

“You’re the only one for me,” he told me.

“Kiss me,” I smiled. He leaned down and pressed his lips to mine. I loved kissing Scott, he was so passionate about it.

“Now, get on your plane and dance your ass off,” he said smiling.

“OK,” I laughed. I grabbed my two carry-on’s and looked at everyone. I smiled and waved and got on the plane. I didnt want to look back because I was afraid I wouldn’t have the strength to keep moving onto the plane.

When I got onto the plane I sat down and held back the tears.

“Are you ok?” asked a voice next to me. I wiped the few tears that had fallen and looked up and saw a girl smiling down at me. She looked nice enough.

“Yeah, I’m fine,” I smiled.

“Well, we’ll be sitting next to each other,” she smiled and sat down.

I smiled and looked out of the window, just waiting for this plane to take off. As soon as it does, everything will be fine, everything will be final.

“My name is Kelly,” the girl said smiling.

“Dahlia,” I smiled.

“So, what are you going to New York for?” she asked.

“Uh, I’m going to a dance school up there,” I told her.

“Really?! Me too, I’ll be going to the School of American Dancers. I was so excited when I got accepted,” she gushed.

“I’m going there too!” I exclaimed.

“Wow, that’s so cool. Oh yeah! I think I remember you from tryouts. Wow, I can’t believe I got in, I was so nervous,” she laughed.

“Yeah, me too. The second dance they taught us was kinda hard too,” I sighed.

“Oh I know! It was killing my legs,” she sighed.

“Yeah, but it’s worth it,” I smiled.

“Oh yeah,” she nodded. Kelly was attractive, she had long blonde hair, blue eyes, and she was tall and thin.

“Well... I guess this is a year to look forward to, anything can happen,” she sighed.

“Hopefully I get accepted into the business and I get a job, it’s all I’ve ever wanted,” I told her.

“Yeah, I’ve been working for this since I was a little girl. My mother went there,” she told me.

“Really? Wow... my mother didn’t dance,” I sighed.

“No? My mother pushed me into dancing, now I can’t stop,” she laughed.

“My mother didn’t want me to dance,” I laughed.

“Well... we don’t have too much in common, but I like you,” she laughed.

“Yeah,” I sighed. I looked out the window and thought about Scott.

“So, do you have a boyfriend?” she asked.

“Yeah, he’s in there,” I said pointing to the airport.

“Yeah, mine too, unless he already left. I wouldn’t doubt it,” she sighed.

“Why would you say that?” I asked.

“Let’s just say, we aren’t the best couple,” she laughed.

“Oh,” I sighed.

*After a Two Hour Flight*

“Well, I guess we could go together, that way if we get lost, at least we won’t be alone,” Kelly suggested.

“Yeah, that sounds like a good idea,” I laughed.

“Come on,” she said. We got our bags and walked out into New York.

“Well, let’s get a cab, I guess. You know, they should send a little van or limo or something to pick us up in,” Kelly whined.

“That sounds good, although, with the tuition we are paying, they probably use all the money on themselves,” I laughed.

“Hell yeah, I couldn’t believe how expensive it was,” she laughed.

“Oh well, we’re here, let’s go,” I said. We got a cab and shoved all our things in the trunk.

“Where to ladies?” the guy asked.

“School of American Dancers,” Kelly answered. The guy looked at her dumbfounded.

“Oh no, you dont know where that is?” she asked.

“I’ve never even heard of it, hon,” he chuckled.

“Well, damn, I guess you’re going to have to call someone for directions,” Kelly said, smiling.

“Huh?” he asked, irritated with her rudeness.

“Here, you can use my cell phone,” I said, handing the man my cell. He dialed some numbers and talked with someone for about five minutes, then hung up.

“Ok, I know where we’re going,” he said and started the car.

“Good thing,” Kelly mumbled.

*At the School*

“Wow,” I sighed, looking up at the huge building.

“I already got my bags, I’m going in!” Kelly exclaimed, rushing towards the building. I started taking my bags out of the trunk.

“Need any help there?” asked a voice from behind me. I jumped and turned around and couldn’t believe my eyes. I ‘knew’ him, everyone knew him or at least heard of him, or just seen his face. Brian Littrell, from the Backstreet Boys was smiling down at me. I looked around for security guards or maybe the other Backstreet Boys. Nothing.

“Uh, sure, thank you,” I stuttered. He smiled and took two of my bags and I took the other two. I paid the cabdriver and we walked towards the building.

“So, you’re going here?” he asked.

“Yeah, do you?” I asked, I didn’t want him knowing I know who he was. I didn’t want to make him uncomfortable.

“Uh, yeah, kinda,” he answered.

“What do you mean, kinda?” I asked.

“Well, I don’t go here full time, just sometimes,” he said.

“Oh, I’m Dahlia, by the way,” I smiled.

“Oh man, I’m sorry,” he blushed.

“It’s ok,” I laughed.

“I’m Brian,” he replied.

“Nice to meet you Brian,” I smiled.

“The pleasure is all mine,” he said.

We walked into the school and everyone was standing in the lobby, or so it seemed. I got signed in and everything and was given a room number for my dorm. I saw Kelly standing impatiently by the elevator.

“Over there,” I directed Brian.

“Hey, what room do you have?” I asked, Kelly.

“221,” she replied.

“Darn it... I have 220,” I laughed.

“At least we’ll be right across the hall,” she said.

“Yeah,” I mumbled.

“Who’s this cute fellow?” she asked, smiling at Brian.

“Oh, Kelly this is Brian. Brian, Kelly,” I introduced.

“Nice to meet you,” Brian said, and nodded.

“Thank you so much for carrying my bags up here,” I smiled at Brian as he set them down in my dorm.

“No problem. I guess, I will see you in class tomorrow, right?” he asked.

“Of course,” I nodded.

“Bye Dahlia,” he winked.

“Bye Brian,” I said and watched him walk out of my room. Damn, he was hot.

“Who was that fine guy that just walked out of my room?” a short blonde girl asked.

“That was Brian. And, I am Dahlia, nice to meet you,” I said smiling.

“Thats a pretty name. Dahlia. I like it. I’m Cassie,” she smiled.

“Nice to meet you Cassie and thank you,” I smiled. I was so happy to be here. So far, everyone was really nice too. I think this is going to be a great year.
