Suddenly, Nick felt himself being pushed into the icy pool.
He surfaced to see Andrea standing on the deck giggling like a little girl.
"Not funny," he said attempting to look angry. Andrea pouted,
He couldn't stay mad at a face like that, "of course not." She smiled and jumped in.
He couldn't help but notice how nice her body was as she emerged from the pool soaking wet. The thin material of her top clung to her breasts and he smiled at her appreciatively.
His concentration was broken by her shouting, "cannonball!" and jumping in the wall creating a tiny splash.
"That was so weak!" He snickered.
"Well, I'm sorry. I'm a little girl."
"Too bad, little girl, cause I'm a big man, with big waves baby." He laughed and plunged beneath the water causing it to splash immensely out of the pool.
"You win." She giggled as he swam over to her.
"I'm sorta glad AJ couldn't make it today." Andrea admitted.
"How come?" Nick asked.
"Because...you're really nice, Nick. I haven't been able to unleash and act immature in a long time."
"You're telling me, I haven't met many girls as spontanious as you seem to be."
"Thanks."
"Anytime."
The compliment was met with an uncomfortable silence.
"Hey guys!" AJ said over the fence.
"AJ?" Andrea said stunned to see him.
"Hey man," AJ said to Nick.
"Andi!" He grinned.
"Wow, it's nice to see you."
"I'm sorry, here, let me climb down from here and I'll be over there in a second."
He disappeared over the side of the fence.
"I guess we should get out," Nick said looking somewhat disappointed.
"Yeah, I guess." Andrea climbed out and wrapped her towel around her body.
Nick stood helplessly next to her, "Uh, Andrea..."
She couldn't help but laugh, "I'm sorry, I forgot I got your towel wet!"
"It's not big deal, would you mind getting me another?"
"Not at all," She said sheepishly opening her screendoor and returning momentarily with a towel.
"Here you go." She grinned as he wrapped the towel over his nicely toned body.
The doorbell rang, "that must be AJ," Andrea concluded walking to the front door.
"Must be." Nick said.
"Yeah." She said quietly as the doorbell rang again.
"You should get that..." Nick whispered inching closer to her.
"Yeah I should..." She backed away and walked into the house to open the front door.
"Andi! It's so great to see you." AJ had been avoiding this moment but was now glad he'd stopped by. His childhood buddy had bloomed into a beautiful young woman.
"It's good to see you too AJ."
"I've missed you like you wouldn't believe."
"Based on all those letters and calls, of course I knew," she said sarcastically.
"I'm sorry I didn't keep in touched better." He said sincerely looking at his feet.
"Well, it's not a big deal, I'm just glad your back." She said wrapping her arms around his neck into a big hug, he was reluctant at first but soon hugged her in return enjoying the feeling of her in his arms.
Nick entered the foyer, "Here Andrea, thanks for this afternoon" He said handing her the towel, "I'll let you guys make up for lost time." He muttered quietly closing the front door.
"Nick's a good man," AJ commented walking into her house.
"This place hasn't changed a bit." He said looking at the walls and furniture.
"Well, after mom and dad moved out it was a nice place to stay without having to shell out a ton of money."
"Very true."
"Right, so..."
"I am really glad to see you." He said removing his sunglasses and looking into her eyes.
She smiled.
"Hey, you know what would be great?"
"What?" She asked.
"There's a party tomorrow night and I was wondering if you wanted to go, it's at my friend Kevin's, nothing big..."
"Sure, I guess. I don't think I had anything planned..."
"Great, well I guess I'll see you then."
"All right, thanks for stopping by."
"Hey And?"
"Yeah?"
"Meet me at our spot... say 12?"
She smiled, "You got it."
