Harper's Ferry
A tiny town in the mountains of West Virginia, at the convergence of three rivers and the borders with Virginia and Maryland. It's most famous as being the site of John Brown's armed uprising against slavery. It also lies along the Applachian trail. Thomas Jefferson said the view from the mountain the town sits on is "worth a trip across the Atlantic".
