It's one lazy afternoon
There's been nothing to do now for a little while
Lunch across the street from where everybody hangs
Some things just don't register don't know which way it swings
It's one lazy afternoon
The sun's hanging like unfinished darkroom pictures
Or a conversation no one wants to end
And I look into the things you say
And they fill my mind all day
You've given it all for me
You've given it all for me
You've given it all for me
And now amongst these cardboard boxes
And all the things that we believe we can leave behind
You can give away these old photographs
They're locked inside us anyhow
Books and telephones, sticks and bones,
Do you even know what those old bones are for
Do you need me to tell you now
Oh, I guess you need me to write in your goodbye book
And I guess you need me to return that look
That's neither sad, nor a smile
It's the one I'm picturing from a thousand miles
As we say our goodbyes
Our goodbyes fill the world tonite
Fill the world tonite

Faraway, That's where you are,
For your company, The moon the sun and your lucky star
You'll walk until your shoes are clear of all the dirt of every town you've
been in
Decided all humanity's made up some stupid trash that they call livin
You won't have a part in it no more
You won't have a part in it no more
You won't have a part in it no more
And you say screw them screw them screw them screw them screw them...
To hell with them
Throw back your head and laugh you've broken free
Nothing but nature's children for your company
The beasts and flowers don't talk back or go running for state elections
There are no credit card bills to pay or vehicle repossesions
You won't have a part in it no more
You won't have a part in it no more
You won't have a part in it no more
And you say screw them screw them screw them screw them screw them screw
them screw them...
To hell with them
But they come, they come, they come
again, They come to invade the space you're livin in
In the wild, you'd made a crusoe-ish restart, But they come to kick you out
and a build a new Walmart |
The woods will be alright, That is their
insistence
Any damage done is worth the parking convenience
But they're fancy slogans and recycled bages are just no proof of virtue
And the giant glass and paper bins behind their Kroger will not fool you
You won't put up with it no more
You won't put up with it no more
You won't put up with it no more
So you're gonna screw them screw them screw them screw them screw them screw
them screw them...
To hell with them
So here you are in jail for eco-terrorism
Details aside, we know you went all out to dis em
The moral of this tale of burning carts and soggy aisles
If you're gonna cus like ------ don't defend yourself in trials
You don't have a part in it no more
You don't have a part in it no more
You don't have a part in it no more
You said screw them screw them screw them screw them screw them screw them
screw them...
To hell with them

Soliloquy |
I took a long road from here to
Alor Setar
A girl who lives there, she drives her brother's car
And whispered things that she thought we ought to know
We need to give a damn, we need to let it show
First time I heard that whistle for a one-way
Nineteen Ninety Three on a Monday
And it was warm here all year round
Sitting on the fence learning a new name
Hands in our pockets, and tongues in flames
Oh... the things I feel for you you
You've shown me all my needs
Oh... there's nothing I can do
When you're not looking at my deeds
The past, a failed romance with life apart from you
I'm in a moment and it can't last too long
My heart is aching, aching for a simple song
A simple song for a simple feeling
No dylan raps please to send me reeling
Oh... the things I feel for you you
You've shown me all my needs
Oh... there's nothing I can do
When you're not looking at my deeds
My past
My failed romance
With life apart from you

Black and White in Berlin |
The darkness of temptation
Like a lioness on a rock
Hunts me in the twilight
As I rage against the clock
I heard, I spoke and faltered
I embraced the written word
But it's time itself that binds me
To the good news I heard
I made no promise to her
Though my heart was filled with hopes
Tossed about in raging storms
Hanging from the ropes
Would not penetrate the waters
To rest within their calm
But time itself compelled me
And eased me with its charms
Now everything is scattered
Living by the gun
Cast out of the garden
And dying in the sun
We recall when Adam was
Cursed to work the mud
When time itself exploded
In a litany of blood
|
Wrongs I did against you
You didn't need to hear
I would have left them all unsaid
Bound up in my fear
But they would have surfaced anyway
In a manner long foretold
For if time does not accuse you
It'll strand you in the cold
Now everything is wounded
Shattered where they lie
Between Gehenna's growl
And the red arch of the sky
Unwanted foundlings in
Anticipation of the son
Since time itself exploded
And kept us on the run

Your Song Is On My Tongue |
You made the waters part
You opened up my heart
Your song is on my tongue
You made the broken whole
You bore anew my soul
Your song is on my tongue
Oh, Elohim
Has put a new song on my tongue
Oh, Elohim
Has put a new song on my tongue
Emmanuel has come
By Him the work is done
Your song is on my tongue
The levy fully paid
My spirit newly made
Your song is on my tongue
Oh, Elohim
Has put a new song on my tongue
Oh, Elohim
Has put a new song on my tongue
