This indenture made and entered into the 19th day of August 1875 between W. G. Millsaps and his wife Fannie Millsaps of the first part and Nimrod Thompson, Archie Williams, Henry Freeman, Levi Adams, and Jim Smith Trustees of Mt. Moriah Baptist Colored Church of the second part, witnesseth, that the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of five dollars in hand paid have granted, bargained and sold and by these persons do grant, bargain and sell unto the said parties of the second part as Trustees for the use and benefit of the colored people of the Baptist Church the following describbed tract or lot of land, to wit, one acre around the church building called Mt Moriah situate in the North west corner of lot No. 3 Section 7 Township 8 R5 East to have and to hold the same unto the said party of the second part their sucessors in office forever for the purpose of public worship. And the parties of the first part hereby agree to warrant and defend the title to the above described land against all claims or claims whatsoever.

In witness whereof we have this day set our hands and seal August 19th 1875.

William Green Millsaps born 04 April 1831 in Copiah County, Mississippi, was the son of Reuben Millsaps and Lavinia Clowers. William married Frances "Fannie" Mayberry 14 August 1857. He died 25 Feb 1887 in Copiah County.
