Freckles was supposed to be My Dog after the sad ending of Pixie and Dixie.  I picked him out from the shelter, I named him, and he was going to be mine.

Unfortunately, Freckles had the same problem as Pixie & Dixie:  he was a fence-jumper, fence digger, and just did not want to stay in the yard.  He was a very sweet, affectionate, funny little dog, but my parents were so afraid that he would meet the sort of fate Pixie/Dixie met that they decided to take action.

Without my knowledge or permission, they found him another home.  One day, I came home from school, and he was simply gone.  They told me they had given him away to a good home in the country, because they did not want to see him hit by a car.

I'm sorry I didn't get to say goodbye to Freckles.  I hope that he truly did find a good home, and that he lived many years in happiness and love.
