Master List of Jewish Scout Units
Jewish Scouting Units
This list was created because the one on the National
Jewish Committee on Scouting (NJCS) site has not been properly maintained for quite some time.
It is believed that some NJCS entries
are no longer operating and the information provided for others needs updating. Contact infomation is available
for only a few units and several recently created units are not shown.

If your Jewish-sponsored unit does not have a web site,
we'll create one for FREE.
This list focuses on the USA. It includes some local Jewish Committees
on Scouting (JCS). A unit may be included because it is sponsored
by a Jewish organization or because it engages in a Jewish-oriented activity
(Kinus,
Shabbat, etc.)
Only units with evidence of recent operation on the Internet have been included below.
We recognize that
THIS LIST IS INCOMPLETE Please don't bother telling us that. |
Local JCS in the USA are organized into four regions: North-East, Southern, Central, and Western.
The mission of a local JCS may include organizing: a
Kinus, a
Scout Shabbat (or Havdalah),
new Jewish Units, promoting the
Jewish Religious Emblems program,
outreach to Jewish Scouts in non-Jewish units, and informing local councils about
Jewish holidays.
Jewish Units appear under the headings of their local Council.
If the JCS for your council is inactive, you may get
information on starting one by contacting the local council's religious (or relationships) committee,
or the JCS for your region.
