Tis My Time

Verse 1

Tis My Time
and my day,
what right have you
and as this voice
of darkness
continued to rant
and shout at me
I trembled
but I did not fear,

Verse 2
********

and in listening
to his tirade
I knew him
for who he was
and was reminded
if you are worthy
ye shall not fear,

Verse 3
********

and with not
the confidence
of Moses, or Isaiah
I remained silent
for longer than
I would have thought
till finally I softly
spoke, "Get thee hence."

Verse 4
********

And as I said these words,
the darkness seemed
to part as
a storm and sunshine
both in route
and knowing of both
seeing both
but experiencing
only one,

Verse 5
********

and then peace
was felt and quietly
I laid to sleep
I laid to sleep
exhausted beyond
any knowledge
I ever knew
or possessed,
I laid and slept . . .
