Create a C++ GUI that interfaces with a video database and broadcast
control equipment. The program will insure that a video is continuously
playing over the closed-circuit television channel through a video-on-demand
web-interactive system, as well as an autonomous control algorithm.
Several phases of the project will occur: a framework to select
and play videos that can interact with the database; web-interaction
with the control software; underlying algorithms to insure synchronous
output from asynchronous input; a shiny new coat of paint.
This project has already been partially implemented in crude Perl,
but we are abandoning the original structure in favor of a more
practical software engineering methodology. The new structure will
be modular and clearly organized, so that future additions will
be simple to put into action.
