A year as Passed
Poem writen by Pam Ramey (8/30/2000)
A year has come and gone, since you went away
And thou you are not here, I find I see you
everyday.
Sometimes I fear that I'll forget the way you
used to be, but then I find with each new day,
that you're still here with me.
One day I saw a deer running thru the pasture
green, thou others saw a deer, It was "you" I
seen.
And then I saw a butterfly drinking morning
dew, it looked just like a butterfly, but I
saw a touch of you.
Once when we flew kites way up in the sky, I
held my kite tight in my hand, for I saw your
spirt fly high among the clouds.
The other night we all went fishing by the
light of the stars and moon, but as we hauled
these big boys in, I saw you'd left us much to
soon.
And then there's that little humming bird, that
flies around the place, when I see that little
bird, I picture your sweet face.
We drove down by the river and watched it
running smooth and clean and thou it looked
like water, it was you that I had seen.
One day I heard the wind chimes, ringing in
your tree, thou others just heard windchimes,
I heard you speaking soft to me.
And one night we went dancing, to a place
where you had been. In all the lights and
laughter and music, I saw your little grin.
There was a big old hawk I saw soaring thru
the sky, but it was the touch of you I saw,
that made me want to cry.
And heres a little something that you might
find funny too, clouds don't look like clouds
anymore, to me they look like you.
Everyday in some small way I see a bit of you,
the way you laughed, the way you smiled, the
things you used to do. I guess what I mean to
say, is the list goes on and on. But as long
as I see you in all of these things, you'll
never really be gone.
