December 1 General Body Meeting

Blackburn Center Reading Lounge

The meeting, which served as the club’s annual Holiday Mixer, began at 7:30 pm with members enjoying wings and chips.

At 8:00, President Keith Laing made a few announcements. He said that the second order of hoodies were back and that members could see T-Shirt Committee Chairwoman Tosha Holmes to pick up their shirts. He also said there were a few extras, so members who did not place orders could also see Tosha about what sizes were available. Bison 2 Bison Coordinator Stephanie Erhueh once again collected applications for the program and announced the annual kick-off, to be held in conjunction with the Atlanta chapter of the Alumni Association, would take place on Saturday, December 18. She said members would receive an Evite with more information on the event, but encouraged everyone to sign up for the program. President Keith Laing also said that members who only paid dues for one semester would no longer be considered active as of December 17, and would no longer receive the benefits of being an active member of the club. He said members who paid the $15 special would still be considered active for next semester, as would members who paid the full $20 membership dues. He said anyone who had questioned regarding their status should contact Treasurer Angela Harris, and anyone who wanted to continue their expiring membership could do so after the announcements. He also announced that the club would be having its second Georgia Spirit Day on Friday, December 3.

Next, Vice-President Natalya Bodrick gave the attendance report from the most recent Officer's Meeting, but noted that it was an ‘emergency meeting,’ and thus, no one would be penalized for not attending as long as they submitted their necessary information. For the meeting on November 30, she said the following officers were present:

Finally, President Keith Laing thanked everyone for their participation this semester and encouraged everyone to continue supporting the club’s activities next semester, including Georgia Week 2005 and the 14th annual Welcome to the Mecca Weekend. Members then continued to eat, enjoyed music and played card games such as Spades and Tonk.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:00 pm.
