The Klibanophori are the Byzantine army's main strike force. Heavily armored & armed with kontos, a unit of these horsemen charging pack a powerful punch. Like all Byzantine units the is cavalry are also blessed with high WS and BS (they can have darts or javelins) attributes. They'll need these because they are expensive so they usually aren't fielded as large units.
Byzantine Klibanophori can add archers to their rear ranks. These are a little cheaper than the non-archer Klibanophori and count towards the all important +1 rank bonus the unit is allowed when charging only. Pictured here all Old Glory miniatures, the bag comes with just two cavalryman poses. I gave one figure a sword so he would look like a leader, the musician is to his right, you can see the tipof the horn hanging on the extra strap on his right. The kontos are made out of plastic rod.
