Quest Solution: Investigate the Circus Tent: Dispel Aerie's Illusion Where to get: From Aerie inside the Circus Tent in Waukeen's Promenade. Optional: This quest is not required to advance in the game. Summary: Something strange has happened at the circus. No one has come out since the circus started a long time ago, including the people sent in to investigate it. An illusion cast on Aerie has made her appear to be an ogre, and she cannot dispel it because she is chained (the chains are also covered by the illusion). To dispel the illusion, she needs a sword carried by a normal looking man that can be found down the path to the left (as you face Aerie). How to Do: The man with the sword is actually a monster, who will attack you when you get close (although he won't "turn hostile" until his illusion is dispelled by your attack on him). When you have defeated him, take the sword from his body and give it to Aerie. She will use it as a key to unlock her chains, and then dispel her own illusion. She will also offer to join you, which you can accept or refuse without penalty. Aerie is a Lawful Good elf Cleric/Mage. Return to Quest List read the adventurer's guide
