Where: From Fridlief Gjukissen, on the third floor of the Town Hall in Sturmford.

Promotion: This quest is not required to advance in the game, but is required for promotion to Gladiator.

Summary: Gjukissen explains that in order to be promoted to Gladiator, a Mercenary must prove he is worthy of the promotion.

How to do:

Part 1 - Kill a Basilisk: Kill any type of basilisk. Upon death, you will get the skin. Just keep it until you complete all the quests and have it with you when you return. There are several basilisks by Anskram Keep; if you've already killed them and sold the skins, you can either wait for them to regenerate (about every month) or you can go to Thronheim, where the countryside is crawling with basilisks of three types (in increasing order of difficulty): basilisk (green), fibrese basilisk (yellow-green), and king basilisk (black).

Part 2 - Steal Kira the Cold's shield: The easiest part of the quest. Go to Kira's headquarters in Thronheim. Just outside the door to her audience chamber, on the floor, leaning against the wall, is her shield. Just click on it to pick it up. You will not be able to pick up this shield unless you have been given this quest. Keep it with you until you return.

Part 3 - Win at Lord Level in the Arena: The Arena is in Thjorgard. You access it through what looks like another city gate - it's near Bembridge University (the mage school). Lord Level is the highest level you can fight at. Just go inside and choose "fight at lord level", then win the fight. Be sure to save your game beforehand. When you've won, walk back out the door you came in (it will remain locked until you've killed everything). Go to the counter and collect your prize money, then return to Sturmford to be promoted to Gladiator. Note: I did not include the arena prize money in the quest winnings as you may fight in the arena for the money without having the quest.

You must complete all three parts of the quest before you will receive any quest money or experience points at all.

Note: Do not save your game inside the Arena. There is a bug in the game which will corrupt games saved there. Exit the arena first.
