Rowner
Cricket Club Constitution
1. The club shall be called Rowner Cricket Club.
2. The club colours shall be navy blue and red.
3. The Executive Officers of the club shall be: Chairman, Hon. Secretary, Hon Treasurer, Hon Fixture Secretary,
Captain of the 1XI League Team, Captain of the 2XI League Team, Captain of the 1XI Sunday Team, Captain of the
2XI Sunday Team and an elected officer.
4. The Committee shall be the Executive Officers of the club.
5. Executive Officers shall be elected from and by members of the club annually at the Annual General Meeting.
6. The committee shall manage all concerns of the club.
7. The committee may appoint such sub-committees from among its members, as it shall consider necessary, with the
power to co-opt any other member of the club, as it deems desirable.
8. The club membership shall consist of a Chairman, playing members, non-playing members and honorary members.
9. Any new member wishing to join the club will complete an application form and hand it to a club member who,
in turn, shall pass the form on to a member of the committee for further consideration.
10. The annual subscription will be proposed by the general committee and ratified at the Annual General Meeting.
It must be paid by 31 May. Any member paying their subscription by 30 April will be entitled to a £5.00 reduction.
Any member not paying their subscription by 31 May will not be considered for selection until the subscription
is paid. Subscription rates will be displayed in the fixture card.
11. Match fees will be collected by team captains (or any person nominated by him) before play commences and passed
to the Treasurer at the earliest opportunity. Fees not paid will be carried over and paid along with the sum due
for the next match in which, the player is to play. If the player concerned has not made payment for two consecutive
matches, he will not be eligible for selection for any team until the fees have been paid. The match fee will be
displayed in the fixture card.
12. The Annual General Meeting (AGM) shall be held between the end of the playing season and the end of February
on a day to be selected by the committee.
13. Any complaints as to the management of the club or any other matter concerning the activities of the club,
or any other suggestion for the improvement of the club shall be made in writing and submitted to the Hon. Secretary
for consideration by the committee.
14. An Extraordinary General Meeting shall be called by the Hon. Secretary on the direction of the committee or
upon the receipt of a request in writing signed by eleven members of the club entitled to vote.
15. No alteration shall be made to the constitution except by members of the club, in General Meeting, fourteen
days notice of the proposed alteration having been posted to all members.
16. The rules of the MCC shall be adopted in all questions of play.
17. The committee has the power to discipline or expel any member whose behaviour, on or off the field of play,
is subversive or detrimental to the best interests of the spirit of the game of cricket and to the club in particular.
Before any member is disciplined or expelled, the Hon Secretary will give the member seven days notice to attend
before the committee and explain his actions. Expulsion will only be actioned if a majority of the committee members
agree.
18. A mileage allowance of 25p a mile will be paid to members who regularly drive both adult and junior members
to club fixtures. Payment will only be authorised after the committee has approved any claim.
19. Every member of the club shall be given a copy of the constitution.
