The convoy consists of 4 Tarawa class assault carriers and a fuel tanker.
T hey are escorted by a defiant LC , 2 Chevalier class LC's and an escort carrier
The STC template on Antibes III that was adapted to produce the Tarawa class assault landers, was a modification of the Defiant class light cruiser. The class diverted it's speed and agility into increased defence and firepower. Although lacking the flexibility and manoeuvrability of the Dauntless class, the Defiants were much valued for their high firepower and defensive capability. Only their low endurance and vulnerability stopped them from taking a place in the line of battle. they were however much valued for convoy escorts and planetary defence situations. Defiants were often found to be useful on blockade duty too where their hitting power made them a match for most vessels trying to run the blockade.

The Model
This is a completely scratch built model using only modified Weapons batteries to maintain the Imperial style appearance. It was an attempt to produce a Light carrier with medium cruiser hitting power balanced by a consequent reduction in turning, speed and flexibility. heheh and of course a reason for using my new found rectangular tubes and strips of plastic card.. ?=0)
