The Cat Came Back

One day Farmer Brown found a stray cat at his door,
he didn't think he'd ever seen this kitty cat before,
he didn't worry 'bout it, he just shooed the cat away,
and figured it would go and find some other place to stay,

But the cat came back, the very next day,
The cat came back, they thought he was a goner,
but the cat came back, he just wouldn't stay away.

The next time that he saw it, he began to get irrate,
He kicked the cat right in its ribs and threw it out the gate,
It landed on a cliff and rolled down it in a spin,
and Farmer Brown was sure he'd never see that cat again,

But the cat came back, the very next day,
The cat came back, they thought he was a goner,
but the cat came back, he just wouldn't stay away.

The next time Old Brown found him in his drawer of underwear,
And never could quite figure how that cat had gotten there,
So he called the pound to come and take the kitty cat away,
and recommended that they put that cat to sleep today.

But the cat came back, the very next day,
The cat came back, they thought he was a goner,
but the cat came back, he just wouldn't stay away.

It was a bright and cheery morning, when the cat next showed its face,
it had found the kitchen garbage and strown trash in every place,
Old Brown was so amazed that this cat just wouldn't die,
that he shot it with his shotgun and then buried it alive.

But the cat came back, the very next day,
The cat came back, they thought he was a goner,
but the cat came back, he just wouldn't stay away.

Sure, so now the cat had just a few new wounds to lick,
but first he thought he'd take a nap on Brown's old walking stick,
The farmer screamed a bad, bad thing and put it in a box,
and mailed it off to China under chains and ropes and locks,

But the cat came back, the very next day,
The cat came back, they thought he was a goner,
but the cat came back, he just wouldn't stay away.

The next night Brown slept soundly, 'till the cat burned down the house,
it had knocked over a lamp while it chased a little mouse,
The cops all said that Farmer Brown was lucky to survive,
that in that damned inferno nothing else could be alive,

But the cat came back, the very next day,
The cat came back, they thought he was a goner,
but the cat came back, he just wouldn't stay away.

Old Brown then finally lost it, he went to his local store,
and filled the cat with poison 'till he couldn't fit no more,
he put it on a rocket on a course straight for the moon,
and prayed the cat would not be back anytime real soon.

But the cat came back, the very next day,
The cat came back, they thought he was a goner,
but the cat came back, he just wouldn't stay away.

A hundred atom bombs was what Old Brown went and bought,
he tied them all up to the cat and then set the fuse off,
he managed to eliminate the entire human race,
and turn the Earth into a ball of rock way out in space,

But the cat came back, the very next day,
The cat came back, they thought he was a goner,
but the cat came back, he just wouldn't stay away.
