Imagine his surprise when he discovers the princess WANTS to be kidnapped! Zidane is a womanizer in the extreme, and he's got a tail. This thief will do what he wants, but he does have some morals.

Strategy: Zidane's main strengths are his speed and the reach of his daggers. Use both to overwhelm the enemy with constant physical attacks. Zidane's specials are a little less than useful, since his two go up and Steal is only useful if the enemy has enhancing abilities.

The star blitzball (underwater soccer/rugby) player of the Zanarkand Abes. During a tournament, a giant tidal wave wipes out the stadium, and a blue ball is floating in the air. Tidus's friend Auron brings him to fight the creature and they are both sucked into it, ending up in another world! Tidus is a little egotistical, but you play soccer underwater! He also hated his father, whose ego makes Tidus's look like a minnow to a whale. Tidus awakens in a world called Spira. He is noticeably more cheerful than most denizens of Spira. He is a very quick fighter.

Strategy: With his sword, he has a long ranged attack that is hard to beat. Combine that with fast speed that actually includes his weapon, and you have a recipe for a good fighter. His only real weakness is that his hyper moves are just too slow to combo effectively.
    Combos:
  • Chain Combo, Spiral Cut or Quick Cut or Slice & Dice
  • Chain Combo, Launcher, Sphere Shot

  • Yuna

The daughter of the High Summoner Braska. Tidus meets Yuna just as she completes her training and becomes a full fledged summoner. Yuna often acts quite emotionless throughout the game. She does not like hurting anyone, including the fiends, evil spirits of the envious dead. She is very gentle and wishes nothing more than to bring the Calm to Spira, a time without Sin.

    Aeons:
An aeon is a spirit creature that Yuna can summon to fight for her. Once called, the creature will faithfully stay until dismissed or its physical form is destroyed. However, to make the character fair in a fighting game, an aeon also leaves after 20 seconds. When Yuna is selected, the player must choose 3 of the 5 aeons to use in battle. Each aeon is more like a separate fighter. Each has its own moves and hyper attacks. They can gain vigor via the same methods as the other fighters. They even have a red bar which regenerates when they leave battle. However, their health does not count towards the player's total for a time out. If an aeon is defeated, it cannot be summoned again that battle. While Aeons are active; assists, chain hypers, and team hypers cannot be used. Click here to see the aeons page
Strategy: Yuna is terrible in combat. Her real purpose is to heal other fighters while they get vigor for her to use the aeons. Trying to use Yuna is physical combat is simply stupid. Note that each aeon has its own strategy. See the aeon page.

Strategy: Auron's sword attacks are very slow with long recovery time. His best abilities are his stat reducing attacks. Also, if the enemy has super armor, Auron's Piercing ability allows him to ignore most of it, although not Super Armor Max. Zombie Strike is great if the enemy has healing assists. Take your time and try to damage the enemy's stats.
    Combos:

Her people, the Al Bhed, are persecuted across Spira because they use machina, machines that are outlawed by the faith of Yevon. Rikku's strength is her blinding speed and her fast fingers. Her mixing hyper is unpredictable, but can be quite powerful.

Strategy: The hardest thing about Rikku is that her Mix ability is random. Since you don't know what it will do, it is almost impossible to combo (although you may get lucky). Rikku shouldn't be used in a hand-to-hand fight unless she can use her Stamina Spring Mix on the enemy.
