Also on the western edge of the rose garden, Rose Bed Five ajoins Six with a bench between the beds. There are three climbing roses in the back, to be trained up pillars and a cedar arbor that will be made over the bench.

The roses in Bed Five are: Crepescule, Jeanne Lajouie, Golden Century, Gloire de Dijon, Great Maidens Blush, White Meidiland, The Cottage, Caldwell Pink, and Compte de Chambord.

The roses are accompanied by: Veronica repens 'Sunshine', brachyscome segmentosa 'Pale Pink', iceplant, verbena bonariensis, siberian iris, monarda, dahlias, chives, catmint, guara lindheimeri 'Corris Gold', Veronica 'Sunny Border Blue', caryopteris, and thyme.

There is a clematis planted with each of the climbing roses: Multi Blue, Duchesse of Edinburg, and Nelly Moser. There is a boxwood planted at the outer corner of the bed, at the base of a martin house.
