You can go on the web and find out the characters eye color and height, but here I hope to give a general outline of who is who among the faces you will be seeing again and again during the series. I’m including the mecha (mobile suits) in here as well. I think of them as major characters and they do play a very important part of making this series a Gundam series.
What I am going to do is break them up into groups of closest association. Here we go:
The Gundam Pilots:
Heero Yuy
Pilots Wing Gundam and, Gundam
Epyon and later Wing Gundam Zero.
He is the main character. He is known
for his spandex shorts that can
conceal just about anything (weapons
and such). In the world of fandom he
is referred to as the number 1.
Duo Maxwell
He pilots the Gundam Deathscythe and
later the Gundam Deathscythe Hell.
He is the comic relief in the series. He
is most noted for his braid and for
looking like a female. He is referred to
with the number 2 by fans.
Trowa Barton
Pilots the Gundam Heavyarms. He is
the silent type, and is his cover is a
clown in a traveling circus. His most
recognizable feature is his bangs. His
number is 3.
Quatre Raberba Winner
Pilots the Gundam Sandrock. He is
the sensitive type, with money. His is
best known for sounding like a female.
His number is 4.
Chang Wufei
Pilots Shenlong Gundam and later
Altron Gundam. Noted for calling his
Gundam Nataku. Also noted for
looking his nationality. His number is
5.
OZ Officers:
Treize Khushrenada
He is the leader of OZ and a member
of the Romefeller foundation. He
pilots the Tallegeese II and has the
Gundam Epyon built. Noted for his
love of roses, his eyebrows and his
quest for honor. His number is 13.
Zechs Merquise
He is a Lt. in Oz. He pilots Tallegeese
and Gundam Epyon. Noted for his
mask. His number is 6.
Lady Une
She is a Lt. Col. and aide to Treize.
She flies a Taurus and briefly Wing
Gundam. She is noted for having a
spilt personality. Her number is 11.
Lucrezia Noin
She is also a Lt. in OZ. She flies an
Aires and Taurus. She is noted for
her feeling for Zechs and her piloting
skills. Her number is 9.
Girlies:
Relena Peacecraft
She is the air to the throne of the Sank
Kingdom. Noted for chasing Heero
Yuy and Absolute Pacifism. She has
no number.
Catherine Bloom
Knife throwing girl at the circus where
Trowa is a clown. Noted for making
awful soup and treating Trowa like a
little brother. She has no number.
Hilde Schbeiker
She is an OZ cadet, flies a space Leo.
Noted for her interaction with Duo
Maxwell and cooking steaks. She has
no number.
Dorothy Catalonia
She is a cousin of Treize and a student
at Relena’s school for teaching
absolute pacifism. Known for being
the anti-Relena. She has no number.
Helpers:
Sally Po
A medical officer in the Federation,
she helps give care to an injured
Heero. Known for helping Chang
Wufei. She has no number.
Howard
He is a salvage finder. He helps Duo
repair his Gundam. Noted for his loud
Hawaiian shirts. He has no number.
Rasid Kurama
He is the leader of the Maganac Corp
and takes care of Quatre. Noted for
his devotion to Quatre. He has not
number.
The Five Gundam Scientists
They are the builders of the gundams.
Noted for their willingness to put
teenagers at risk of death. They have
no numbers.
Maganac Corp
They are a Corp that helps Quatre out.
There are a total number of 40
members within the corp. They have
no numbers.
