Sunny Day

The Angel paced in his grief.  He had failed and no that poor woman’s misery was his fault.  He screamed at the sky, filled with rage that was useless.  /I am a failure and I must makes things right./ 

But, what is right in a world so twisted where an angel is an executioner?  Why did the woman have to die?  And where was the natural law that states good and evil clearly?  He broke his pacing, stared out into the space before him and he began to understand.  And then he laughed.  The woman was in no more danger with the witch than she would be with him. 

He smiled to himself.  With this newfound peace, he began to forget about the woman.  Which as it turns out, wasn’t the best option afforded to him.

The Witch watched the sky turn from gray to blue within a matter of minutes and smiled to herself.  /Either the fool has decided to rescue her or has decided she isn’t worth the trouble.  We will find out which shortly I’m sure./
