Don't listen to me speak
or read my words, or follow my actions
Instead, listen for my heart to beat,
     wait,

               wait,
Now you know me
I am stone cold
My words are spoken without passion
My words are written without fire
My actions are done without heat
My heart does not beat
And I watch life go on with disinterest
While I remain like stone
     weathering and eroding too
          slowly for anyone else to notice
               but me
I am alone in a world where change
     takes eons
Emotions take seconds, flying past
     before I recognize them
Worlds collide, stars go nova, and continents shatter all while I blink my eyes
