Awaken
Three years have passed. Not much has changed in a way. However, there are some
changes that stood out. Whether things are good or not remains to be seen.
It started out as a normal day on a distant planet. Sakura was in the kitchen
trying to put icing on a cake. Today was a special day. Actually, she had the
whole weekend planned out. She wouldn’t stop talking about it leading up to
today. Everyone around her just let her babble on. Spike patted her on the head
at one point.
“Sure,” he said. “Whatever you say.”
Sakura bought a blank cake from the store this morning. The baker was puzzled by
this.
“No frosting?” she asked.
“That’s right,” the tenshi-chi said. The baker didn’t question it. The cake was
dark chocolate fudge. When she made it back to the ship, she got right to work.
The tenshi-chi hummed to herself as frosted the cake.

In the city, a school was ending for the day. The children were walking out for
the day. The teachers were easing them toward their parents. One little girl in
particular stood out in the crowd. Her little school uniform was smeared in
finger paint. There was a little bit on her cheek. She ran with her bookbag to
her back.
“Bye-bye!” the little girl shouted as she waved at her teachers.
“See you tomorrow!” one of them yelled. The child turned and ran down the path.
A red spaceship landed outside of the school gate. The top opened up.
“Miya!” Spike shouted over the crowd. “Come on, let’s go!” The child perked up
when she saw him and ran over to him.
----------
A sharp pain shot through Sakura’s head. She dropped the piping bag onto the
floor. The tenshi-chi took in a sharp breath. Her heart started pounding against
her chest.
“What… What is this?” she asked. The room started to spin around her. She closed
her eyes and took in slow breaths. When everything got settled, Sakura slowly
opened her eyes. What was that just now? A sinking feeling formed in her throat.
She tried to shake it off and go back to making the cake.
However, not everything is going fine. Scratch that. There is something going on
in Hell. In fact, there was going to be one game unfolding to bring this saga to
a close. And it all started over one birthday weekend.
