Her mom Anne took one of her hands and her best friend Jenny took the other hand. They walked slowly to their car. Brittany looked back to see her uncle Timothy hug her grandmother as she started sobbing. She turned back around and opened her door and got inside, putting her seatbelt on first thing. Since Brad had been killed in an automobile accident seatbelts were a must for them. If he'd been wearing one he probably would have lived. If's just weren't good enough though. She laid her head against the window and watched the trees and cars go by on the way to her grandmoms." I Will Come To You" by Hanson came on the radio and she turned it up a little and smiled at Jen. Hanson was their favorite group but even Hanson wasn't helping alot today. Brittany and Jen sighed at the same time. They smiled at each other. They did stuff like that all the time. They pulled and in her grandmoms driveway and pulled in to the very end and parked there so the rest of the family and friends to park too. They all went inside and there was food set up on tables in her grandmom's long, spacy hallway. Her Uncle James's church had set it all up. Some people got plates and started fixing their lunch but Brittany and Jenny went outside with Brittanys cousins, Brannon, and his sister Hope, Ron and his brothers Chris, Jake and Stephen.
"This is what i hate," Brittany stated,"everybody just standing around and eating like nothing has happened."
Brannon put his arm around her and hugged her real quick.
"I know what you mean Britt," he agreed. They all looked at each other and laughed. They had been acting like this since he died. Deep down they all knew he was better off though. He'd been so sick for about a year.
"Brannon will you take me to change clothes? I'm not comfy at all in this dress," she gave him her sweetest smile. He laughed.
"Your smiles always work and you know it Brit," he told her grinning. She smiled at him. "I know."
They all went and told their parents that they were gonna go change and maybe go get something to eat. Their parents said it was fine so they all left. Brittany, Jenny, Hope and Brannon all went in Brannon's truck and Ron, Stephen, Chris and Jake all went in Jake's truck. It was really crowded. They all changed then decided to go eat at the food court at the mall. They all ate and bought W.W.J.D bracelets that matched. Stephen wanted to go play some games in the arcade so they all went there for a little while then about 6:00 they all went back to their grandmom's.
Everyone was gone except for their parents and their uncle Tim, aunt Lily, aunt Sandy and Uncle Steve. They all looked serious. Uh oh Brit thought to herself. this can't be good.
"Kids we've got some news. Anne will tell you,"uncle James told them. They all sat down and looked at Brit's mom Anne. She cleared her throat.
"Brittnay, grandmom and I are moving to Oklahoma with Sandy and Steve."
