Seven

The rest of their classes had been canceled. The nice weather gave away and was being replaced by dark ugly clouds and by winds that were only getting stronger.
Summer pulled her sneakers on carefully, but as quickly as she could as well. "I'm so damn tired." She moaned.
Lex nodded, "You did do a little more than necessary earlier."
Summer glared at her, "And you did… what again?"
She grinned, "I… took role, took Jamey to the bathroom, and kept Daniel from falling into... Justine was it?"
"Oh yeah, you over-exerted yourself too." Summer admitted dryly, bending over slowly to tie the laces.
An ear-piercing scream ripped into and echoed throughout the school.
Summer and Lex both jumped to their feet, "That sounds like Becky!" Summer gasped before they looked to each other and then rushed out. Standing in the doorway of their classroom, they peeked down the corridor. Zac was leaning out his own doorway, lightning flashed and lit up the inside of the building.
"What happened?" He called stepping out and up towards them.
Summer shook her head as the lights flickered for a second, "We don't know." She turned to Lex again, "We only just heard the scream and came running."
Nodding Zac pushed the intercom button.
   "Yes, Ms. McPherson?"
Summer shuddered, "Ugh. I hate being called by that name."
Lex giggled lightly as Zac spoke up, "Doreen, do you know anything about that scream?"
"No, I don't, sweetie. But Jakob and someone else went up on the second floor to check it out."
"I think I'm gonna head up there too, Doreen."
"Be careful, Zac." She warned before signing off.
Zac turned to Summer and Lex, "Well, I'm gonna go check it out."
Summer nodded weakly; " Have fun." She encouraged, while gripping onto Lex's arm.
Smiling at them Zac gave a little wave before leaving them alone again in their room. Thunder cracked the already tension filled air, causing them both to jump and rush out after Zac.
He was standing around the corner, leaning against the wall, waiting for them. He grinned annoyingly so. "Wondering how long it'd take you two." He commented before he started walking, chuckling when he felt one of them grab onto the back of his shirt.
Summer tapped him lightly in the back of the head, "Shush." She hissed, "It can't be helped."
Though he was able to stop himself from laughing, the smile could not be removed. "Come on," he whispered back, as he moved as quickly as possible. To tell the truth, this was freaking him out a tad bit too. He just wouldn't admit it out loud. To girls.
A loud crash above them had them running to and up the steps. "Careful!" Zac cautioned them as they moved to a jog.
The scene playing out before them shocked them all. Becky was standing dazedly in the middle of glass, a broken window behind her. Her feet were bare, yet she was wearing her leotard and listening to achingly beautiful classical music.
"Becky?" Summer called out gently, "What are you doing up here, sweetie?"
She edged forward, while Zac's eyes watched for the glass. "Come here, sweetie." She murmured, watching for the glass herself as Zac walked beside her.
Lex turned her head quickly when low creaks sounded down the left side of this corridor. Jakob and a janitor she didn't know was walking towards them with a broom and trash can.
She smiled in relief at them, and went to turn back to her sister and Zac.
She saw it coming then when the lightning flashed once more and illuminated the row of windows behind Becky.
The large object was heading straight for the one Zac was standing in front of.
Lex screamed to try and warn him, but her vocal chords froze for a split second, then let loose her wild cry as glass shattered again.
