Two

You can always tell when someone's nervous. They fidget, don't make eye contact, stutter and stumble over their words, and the most obvious one; they sweat.
Summer rubbed her palms against her jean clad legs, and her hands trembled as she tried hard to concentrate on the schedule in front of her face. Her eyes, though, kept straying towards the clock above the door and her mind kept racing her heart a mile a minute.
"Relax." Zac told her calmly, his smile broadening when she shot him a death glare. "You've still got like three minutes before I do my disappearing act, and a class appears in my place."
She gave a shaky smile, "Can't you both just disappear and stay that way?"
He grinned, "Nope." He answered cheerfully.
Hopping onto her desk, he let his legs dangle down the front of it. "Just chill." He explained nonchalantly. "What's the worst that can happen?"
Summer tilted her head to the side and pursed her lips in thought. "Well, lets see. I can trip over my feet or someone else's. I could end up knocking someone over or something else over. I could manage to embarrass myself so badly that I would wish the world would swallow me whole, but know that something gracious like that that never happens to me."
Zac fought to stifle the laughter building up inside him. "You thought way too much on that answer, girlie."
She shrugged, "I've had time to think out a lot of possibilities for me to screw up." Her eyes closed for a second so that she could try and calm down as suggested. "Trust me, there are a lot. I seem to be able to accomplish those things that other people can't. I'm special like that you see."
Zac nodded, "You're also babbling, and our three minutes are up." He exclaimed hopping back down off the desk.
Her eyes widened and flew to the clock to check and make sure. "Had to be right, didn'tcha?" She asked wryly, her arms crossing in front of her.
He smiled again and took a deep breath, "Listen, I thought this might happen so I called for reinforcements for ya."
She groaned, "If it's your brother's, excluding Mackie, cause he's so cute, I'm gonna hafta hurt ya." She warned sternly.
His head fell back and he laughed loudly, "No, not them. I'm not even that mean." He walked towards the opened door and glanced down the hallway. "Good, she's not late."
"She?" Summer asked curiously. "Who is 'she'?"
"Okay, okay, I'm here, I'm here, don't everyone jump up and down for joy or anything."
The figure showed, giving a face to the voice, but Summer didn't need it anyway.
Laughing, she shook her head. "Lex, I don't think I ever will jump up and down for joy in my life. But if I do, I doubt if it'll ever be over your unexpected appearance." She smiled at her, and gave her a hug. "No matter how much it's needed or appreciated."
Alexis laughed and hugged her back. "Thank Zac, he made me."
Looking over at him, Zac spread his arms wide for a hug too. "Group hug, group hug!" He exclaimed loudly before squishing them all together.
The bell resounded loudly, and echoed off the walls in the room and a cautios voice called from the doorway, "Hello?"
Summer's face flushed, "Zac, you're late!" She exclaimed loudly, pushing him off.
Waving his hand, he blew them a kiss goodbye. "See ya later. Take care, Christine."
The name stole Summer's breath. "Hi, Christine." She murmured softly.
"Chrissy." The girl answered sharply, her arms crossed in front of her, "And when do we start?"
Looking over at her sister, Summer held her response in. Already she didn't like her.
"When everyone else arrives." Lex answered for her, giving her an encouraging smile.
Summer smiled back tightly as Christine stalked into the room, her head high, before sliding into one of the rows of chairs.
