There are several types of homes on Kwajalein, ranging from larger houses to single rooms.

Housing type is assigned by the employer.

New Housing

102 with 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths

34 with 2 bedrooms, 1 1/2 baths

All are equipped with central air
and all appliances.

New Fourplexes

8 units with 2 bedrooms, 1 bath

Equipped with air conditioning
and most appliances.

Old Housing

These units range in size from one to three bedrooms. Most have only one bath.

All are air conditioned and include appliances, except for a dishwasher.

Trailers

55' X 12' with 2 or 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom.

All are air conditioned and include all appliances except for a dishwasher.

Residents have added patios, decks and even entire rooms to some trailers.

BQ rooms vary in size, most designed to accommodate one person. Some will accommodate up to five people. The single rooms include a sink and small refrigerator. All are air conditioned.

These homes have three bedrooms and two bathrooms, with about 1,400 square feet of living space. They are resistant to weather damage and energy efficient.
