Sometimes I can't see clear
The way to go from here,
So then I pause and pray.
Knowing God knows the way,
I throw away the chart
My cautious mind
Designed,
And following my heart
I just
Trust.
And flowing with the flow
I go by letting go,
Believing that God's will
Will bring me to the Still
Where I become the Me
God means for me to be.

The things I never told you I'd like to tell you now;
Of feelings held contentedly inside my heart to swell;
Of thoughts and dreams, wants and happiness too;
A Mother's prayer to finally share with you.
Lord, govern their lives as you have mine,
Touch them with Your sweet divine,
Make them happy, guide their paths,
Tickle their funnybones, let me hear their laughs.
Dry the tears sliding down their faces,
Hold their hands when the love heart races,
Make them stand tall when the burdens are great,
Prepare them to carry the loads of fate.
Heal the hurts and sufferings of the spirit,
Make them listen until they hear it;
That sweet song of yours that will touch their soul
And carry them forward until they are old.
Lord, let them see the meaning of life,
Protect them from the evils of strife,
Gently guide them in the path of your ways,
I pray, Lord, I pray for them everyday.
I know, Lord, that I fell short many times;
In my guidance as "Mom" there were crimes,
Times that I failed to help them see
The beauty that you have bestowed around me.
Take their hands and lead them forward
Give them strength to avoid the coward
And evil ones that lurk about
Waiting to swallow them up and shout
The conquest of their gentle soul
Provide them the coin to pass the toll.
Please make things right, Lord, once again
To help them to see the meaning of friend
And loved ones that hold them close to the heart
With a Mother that loves them, never apart.

This is what I saw
when I looked in the mirror today,
A little girl with sad green eyes
wishing she could play.
This little girl looked back at me
with a steady stare,
I closed my eyes, blinked them
and still she was standing there.
As I looked a little closer,
on her cheek I saw a tear.
She stood there staring back at me,
drawing me so near.
I heard a quiet whisper
as she began to talk,
She said; "Come close to me
as through the past we walk."
"Do you remember when we played
with Barbie dolls?
We'd dress them up with high heeled shoes
and fancy shawls?"
I couldn't figure what she meant;
she was still a kid,
I am grown up with those
things of childhood hid.
She then remembered playing train,
with the kitchen chairs.
Hidden in Christmas boxes playing
"Look for me who cares!!!"
The time we colored Easter eggs
to help the bunny out,
When we didn't get our way
we'd sit around and pout.
I looked away for just a minute.
She then became a teen,
Standing there with make up on,
looking sort of mean.
Times for us had started
now to get a little rough,
We figured we could make it through,
if we acted tough.
We weren't very happy,
so we started ditching school,
All the while thinking being tough
would make us cool.
Again I looked away
just so I could blink my eyes.
Again there stood the little girl
and much to my surprise...
She said, "The voices that you hear
are only in your head,
Just as I'm not standing here,
it's yourself you see instead.
Don't feel so sad,
as we've had many days of fun,
Now it's time for you to
stop thinking you should run.
"Do the best that you can do,
with what you have today.
Don't let what other people think
stand in your way!"
With that the little green-eyed girl
shyly gave a smile,
She disappeared,
and standing there was me,
all the while.
