MY POEM
This page is to show a poem that I wrote myself. A lot of things contributed to the theme. I had just seen Michael Collins, you know the film, for about the 100th time (It's great) and had watched a documentary on the 1798 Rebbelion in Ireland. I also had just finished reading Michael Collin's biography and a book on the Irish Famine. The poem mightn't be any good but the cause is right. No country show have to go through what Ireland has. Here it goes!

Ruled cruely for 700 years
The English crushed our dreams, our hope
They brought with them unjust laws and savage fears
To those poor people who tried to cope.

In 1916 a brave attempt
To hold on to the GPO
Was a bloody event and they had to show
remorse, they hated surenddering to their brutal foe

In 1921 Collins and his spies
Killed 12 informers to Dub' Castle
In 1922 after talks with British guys
Collins signed the treaty though he knew it would be hassle

Civil war broke loose, It was hell.
Collins was murdered, brothers faught, a bloody story to tell.

The English will pay someday
