Although we have
been breeding since '83 it was not until '91 that we got our first
litter of Parti's. Our goal at Te-Awa is too produce the Parti Poodles
with Health, Temperament and Soundness as well as conformational
correct bodies. We breed to the AKC Standard, except for colour.
United Kennel Club (UKC) now accepts Parti's in the conformation ring and
we currently show our Poodles with this Club.
Te-Awa
tests for genetic disorders and contributes DNA to the GDC program at
UC Davis for assistance in finding inherited genetic disorders of the
Poodle.
We offer a five
year genetic health guarantee on all our pups and all go home with a contract
of requirements. Even though our goal is to place our pups in forever
homes, sometimes circumstances prevent that, therefore we will take
back any Poodle that Te-Awa has bred for the entire life of the
Poodle.
We breed
both Klein and Miniature Poodles in primarily Black and White and Brown
and White. We do have Phantoms in Miniatures and Kleins in Black and Tan
and Black and White.
