Head Coach Gertrud Emilia Eberle was born on March 4th in Arad. She was selected at a young age to be on the Romania gymnastics team. The Romanian's didn't think that 'Gertrud' sounded ethnic so they made her use her middle name Emilia. She made her international appearance in 1977 at the age of 13. She was a member of the 1978, 1979, 1981 Romanian World Team. As well as a member of the 1980 Romanian Olympic Team. At the 1980 Olympics she placed sixth all-around. One of her best ranking meets, the Ennia Gold Cup: 1st All-around, 1st Uneven Bars, 1st Balance Beam, 3rd Floor Exercise. She quickly became a Romanian hero and had fans all over the world. On May 19, 1989 she defected to Hungary. There she changed her name to Trudi. In Hungary, she quickly found a job coaching the Békéscsaba (home of the Hungarian Gymnastics Center). After moving to Budapest to be with her great aunt, Trudi picked up a part time job at Bp. Spartacus SC. In Hungary, she met her future husband, Ferenc Kollár now Frank Kollar, a former Judo champion. Sponsored by an American couple, Frank and Trudi immigrated to the United States. In 1991 she was offered a job at Gold Cities Gymnastics in Grass Valley, CA. Now she is coaching at Pozsar's gymnastics. Trudi provides a mix of structured coaching and fun. She focuses on achieving every gymnasts individual goals, as well as making an all-around gymnast. Trudi coaches the compulsories and the optionals.
