I am currently at student at University at Buffalo, trying to earn a degree in mechanical engineering. So I am a full time student. I'm of Hmong origin, and I also belong to the Thao Clan. I am currently nineteen years old. As many of my friends don't know I wasn't born in the USA, but in Loas. My family, like many other hmong families moved to the U.S because of a civil war that broke out in Loas. In 1984 my parents finally decided to cross the MayKong River to Thailand, which they did. This decision didn't come easy, many issues arised when making this choice, for one the Loatian Goverment had troops on the Boarder. But my parents did make it across the river, but all didn't go smoothly. As so many other Hmong families, my family were abused by the thai.So in 1986 my parents with the help of cathloic chairities were able to come over to the United States.
