Beware: Some Diet foods are full of Fat

Ice cream, fudge brownies, fried chicken are obviously overflowing with fat and calories.
But some calories can be pretty sneaky, creeping into health food and supposed low-cal fare.
For the unsuspecting dieter, it can ruin your diet plan.
Things to Watch Out For :
Self-basting TURKEY-They have been injected with butter or oil. Check the label.
Fish- is very good for the diet, but some fish have a higher fat count, for example :
tuna has 165 calories with a fat content of 31%, while Cod is 89 calories
with a fat content of just 7 %
Restaurant Diet Plate - Sometimes, you're better off ordering a piece of apple pie, calories wise, instead of the diet plate, which usually is made from a hamburg patty fried on a greasy grill, regular cottage cheese (not low-fat) a green salad with high-fat dressing.
Pasta- If it is made with cream or butter.
Chinese Food- It's true that Chinese food is considered calorie- conscious, but if you let the vegetables
soak in the sauces, they will come saturated with rich oily sauce. Better to order the sauce on the side.
Chicken Soup- is fine when prepared at home, but often the restaurants prepare the soup laden with fat.
Fast Food- Even the chicken sandwiches can be laden with fat. Some good choices could be
at  Roy Rogers-the roast beef has 317 calories and 10 grams of fat, and at Wendy's- the 8oz.
chili has 260 calories  with 8 grams of fat. Always check the nutrition information posted.
Lemonade -Whether from concentrate or powder, there's a lot of sweetener added to balance the sour taste.
Prune Juice - More calories than peach nectar, which has 135 cal. per 8 oz cup, Prune juice has 182 cal.
Wine Coolers- If you slowly sip through an entire evening, you'll still have more calories than two
glasses of wine or champagne.
Low-Fat Milk- It is better than whole milk, and 2% milk is like adding a pat of butter to skim milk. It is
better to stick with just skim milk.
Yogurt- Whole yogurt gets 48 % of it's calories from fat, while nonfat yogurt derives only 3% from fat.
Bran Muffins- Store-bought muffins are mostly made with butter or oil, and high in sugar. Check the labels good.
Dried Fruit- When eaten in quantity the calories can add up.
Granola -Look for brands that are fat-free
Cranberry Sauce - This is packed with sugar. A Homemade alternative can help keep you slim.
Sesame Seeds - Many believe these are calorie free, In fact 84% of their calories come from fat.
Corn - Compared to other veggies, corn is a high calorie choice. The kernels from one ear have 83
calories compared to 14 calories in zucchini.
 

Practice reading the labels, beware of butter, oils in the ingredients,opt for the lowest amount of fat grams.
