Dog Chasing Its Tail
Players line up, holding each other around the waist. No fingers through belts or belt loops--this results in ripped clothing and hurt fingers! Tuck a bandanna or hand towel in the last player's pocket so it hangs down like a tail. The front of the line chases the end of the line, attempting to grab the bandanna. Players in the middle can help or hinder the head or the tail. If the line breaks, the player who let go must step out, shortening the line.

Freeze Tag
Choose one freezer, two defrosters. The other girls run around. When tagged by the freezer they remain frozen until tagged by a defroster. After 5 minutes, change the freezer and defrosters.

Everyone's "It" Tag
Define the boundaries of the playing area. Have the girls spread out from one another. When the leader yells, "You're it!" everyone runs around trying to tag each other. If you get tagged, sit down. If two girls tag each other at the same time, they're both out. Last one standing is the winner and gets to start the next round with "You're it!"

Pasgetti and Meatballs
Choose several girls to be the Meatballs. When you say "Pasgetti," the Meatballs chase after everyone and try to tag them. Tagged players raise a hand and look for other players that have been tagged. The tagged players hold hands and begin running, forming the Pasgetti. More tagged players join and the Pasgetti gets longer. When you shout "Meatballs," the Pasgetti players let go of hands and chase after the Meatballs and untagged players.

Caterpillar Relay
Each team forms a line with each girl holding onto the waist of the girl in front of her. They may stretch out as far as possible as long as they don't separate. When the whistle blows, the girl at the back goes down on her hands and knees and crawls through the legs of the whole group. When she gets to the front, she jumps up, the girl behind her grabs her waist, and the girl who is now at the back goes through. You can either do this down to the finish line or down and back by reaching the turning point and having all girls spin around so they are facing back the way they came.

Elbow Tag
Buddies link elbows, around the playing area. Their outside hands should be on their hips. Pick one pair to be the chaser and the chased. The chaser chases her partner, who at any time may hook on the outside elbow of a pair. The partner of the person whose elbow was linked becomes the new chaser and chases the former chaser. If the chaser tags the pursued before they can hook on, they reverse rolls.

Hawk and Hens
Country: Zimbabwe
You will need at least four people and two safety zones. One person is the hawk. All the others players are the hens. The hawk stands between the safety zones and tries to catch hens as they run back and forth from one safety zone to the other. When a hen is caught, she is out. The last hen to be caught becomes the next hawk.

Mr. Bear
Country: Sweden
One person is Mr. Bear. He is trying to sleep in his den. The other players sneak up to Mr. Bear and whisper, "Mr. Bear, are you awake?" Mr. Bear pretends not to hear them. Then the players yell, "Mr. Bear, are you awake?" This makes Mr. Bear furious! He chases them and tries to catch them before they reach home, which is the safe place. Everyone tagged becomes one of Mr. Bears' cubs. They go back to the den with Mr. Bear. When the remaining players come back to wake up Mr. Bear, the cubs help Mr. Bear catch them.

Rabbit Without a House
Country: Brazil
Divide the Brownies into groups of 3. If one girl is leftover, she is the lost rabbit. If two girls are leftover, one is the caller, the other is the lost rabbit. If the group divides evenly into 3, have one caller and two lost rabbits. Each group of 3 makes a rabbit in a house by two girls holding hands (the house) and one (the rabbit) standing inside. The lost rabbit yells, “Find a house" and all the rabbits, including the lost one run to find another house. The rabbit left without a house become it. Girls take turns being houses and rabbits.

Torii Tag
Country: Japan
Two players form a Torii arch, leaving enough room for the other players to pass between them. The remaining players form a single line, holding hands with the players in front and behind them. The line circles around the Torii once, then passes slowly under it. When the last player walks under the Torii, the line drops hands and scatters. The two Torii players drop hands and chase the others. The last two players tagged become the new Torii.

Toesies
Partners lie stretched out on the floor, feet to feet (or big toes to big toe), and attempt to roll across the floor keeping their toes touching throughout. Toesies can also be attempted with only the toes of the right feet connected, with legs crisscrossed, or while in a sitting position, rolling toe to toe. Try it!

Flopping Fish Relay
Cut (or tear) a large fish shape from newspaper, one for each team of brownies. Fold 3 or 4 sheets of paper to make a flapper fan. The first player from each team flaps their fish along a designated route, which you can make easy or difficult. Contestants cannot touch their fish with their flapper. Tip - keep the flapper low down, to flap air under the fish, to speed it along.

Chase the Ace Relay
You need a full pack of playing cards. Pull out the Aces and spread out the other 48 cards face down. Divide Brownies into 4 groups. Give each group an Ace. The object of the game is for each group to collect its own set of cards, in order. Teams sit/stand together across the room from the cards. The first player finds the 2 of their suit and returns it to the group. The second player finds the 3, until the set is with the group. This can be made more difficult by not allowing the girls to look at what card they are returning with, therefore making the game much longer. To make it easier for younger girls, the cards could be arranged in their suits, but not in numerical order.

The Lion's Tail
Brownies stand in a circle facing in with their eyes shut. One girl walks around with a felt or yarn tail ready to be taped to a lion. She pokes each girl in the small of her back as if she’s sticking the tail on them. Only one person actually has the tail stuck on. She walks all the way around the circle so as not to give the game away. The Brownies run around looking for the lion with the tail. When the lion is spotted everyone runs away from it. When the tailed girl figures out she’s the lion, she roars. If a girl roars incorrectly, she sits down until the next game. The lion starts the next game by sticking their tail on someone's back as before.

Newspaper Shapes Relay
Preparation – Gather sheet of newspaper for each Brownie. Cut simple shapes from the middle of each, such as circles, squares, hearts, etc. Spread the shapes around one end of the room. Divide girls into teams. Give the teams the external parts of newspaper. One member of each team runs to pick a shape and brings it back. She tries to fit it into a sheet. If it fits, the next team member goes. If not, she returns the shape and picks another. The game continues until one team fits all their shapes.
