"An "MC" is the art of expressing yourself in hip hop context. Not just putting words that rhyme together. It's about the creativity of the message of what you're saying. Whether it's aggression, competition, happiness or depression, an mc cleverly paints you there picture."- Malpica
Born on October 8th, 1981, the mc known as Malpica has been rhyming since he was 12 years old. His family has a distinct background in music as his Grandfather still sings Mariachi and all his uncles have played in bands. Also, His little brother Nabil Aziz is currently in the band "Craive", who is slowly making moves into the music industry.
Born in Cleveland, OH, Malpica's family has been thru just about everything you can think of in the span of one lifetime. According to him, that all translates into his rhymes. Probably the biggest fuel to his fire is his father being murdered in the streets when he was 3 years old. " Growing up without a father has built alot of aggression in my system and every time I grab a mic, I just want to fuck it up." Malpica
Malpica moved to the Dallas part of Texas when he was 12 years old where he first started picking up a mic. He recorded his first song entitled, "Steady Pimpin'", which provided the 12 year old alot of attention with some industry A&R's. The problem was that at 12 years old, he really didn't have anything else. "I just went back in the lab, found myself as an artist, increased my knowledge and created the super mc."- Malpica
By the time he turned 15, he was tearing down stages and cyphers. He easily won the "battle of the mc's" at club emotions. At 16, he one a freestyle contest on K104, the radio station in Dallas. At 17, he won the local talent show unanimously. He joined a group called "Unknown" consisting of his label mate "X-treme" and 2 other artists he met in college at the Art Institute of Dallas. Now broken up, they all still work together on future projects.
By 2000, Malpica conducted his first full length album entitled "Illest Lyricist Alive", but was never released as he pulled the plug on it. "It felt rushed and truthfully, it wasn't the debut I wanted."- Malpica
Currently, Malpica is putting the finishing touches on his first album "The Ballpoint of View". It is set to release in late June and will feature 15 tracks. Guest artists include-X-treme, Nakedd Headd, Sheldon Ray, and Blue.
