GWGF Spring Fling 2003
The Rest of the Story
(Playing ~ "That Old Gang of Mine")

Thursday morning, we all met at 10:00 at Mary Frances' beautiful church,
First Presbyterian Church, for a tour and organ concert.

Jean and Mary Frances posed for me at the Pilot House at
Chandler's Wharf where we lunched on Thursday.

After lunch, some opted for a ride on the Henrietta, a river boat.
Most of us headed back to the motel to rest and pack before
our final evening at Mary Frances' home.

Lois Jean, Mary Dean, Marian and Wanda, enjoying the fun Thursday
on our last evening of Spring Fling, 2003 .... as we gathered at
Mary Frances' for our second wonderful evening together for fellowship,
good food, singing, memories and .... as always .... more bonding!

Since Spring Fling 2000, it has become traditional for Marian to play
for us on her dulcimer. She brings a special sound and feeling to the old, old songs we've known all our lives as we listen and also sing along.

Hilna played for us in Mary Frances' Meditation Room.
Hilna's music is also a tradition that we treasure as it warms our hearts
and souls to sing the songs that mean so much to us and to hear
her play her beautiful arrangements.

Once again, Spring Fling was memorable for all the
Girls With Grandmother Faces who attended!

Postlude

And a fond farewell to Carolina Beach! All week I had yearned to see
the sunrise from our balcony at the Golden Sands. The weather had
not permitted until our final morning. I took this picture about 6 a.m.,
or slightly before, on Friday as we were preparing to leave by 6:30 a.m.
