I am looking for the school's
policy regarding:
| FAILURE
| GRADUATION | ID AND PROGRAM CARDS
| ATHLETIC ELIGIBILITY | PARTICIPATION
IN EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES | LUNCH PERIODS | DRESS
CODE | DISCIPLINE CODE | DAILY
ENTRANCE/EXIT PROCEDURE | GRADUATION
REQUIREMENTS
FAILURE
POLICY |
Students
are required to make up all failed classes in summer school. Students that
absent themselves from class sufficiently in the first half of an annual
subject (i.e. Math, Science, Language) and receive a grade less than 50,
will not be permitted to continue in the second half without going to
summer school.
NO
STUDENT MAY REPEAT A PREVIOUSLY FAILED CLASS IN DAY SCHOOL; SUMMER SCHOOL
IS MANDATED.
|
GRADUATION
POLICY |
ONLY
STUDENTS MEETING THE FULL REQUIREMENTS FOR GRADUATION FROM BROOKLYN TECH
ARE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE JUNE CEREMONY.
Only
students certified for June graduation will be permitted to attend.
Additional restrictions apply to seniors who absent themselves from class
and receive a grade below 50 on the second and third Spring report
cards.
ALSO
SEE: Participation in extra-curricular
activities.
|
ID AND
PROGRAM CARD |
ALL
STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO CARRY BOTH THE BTHS PHOTO ID AND PROGRAM CARDS AT
ALL TIMES.
These
are to be surrendered to faculty on demand. All extra-curricular after
school events require BTHS photo ID for admission. Students without this
documentation or Program Card may purchase them in the SGO Store daily.
|
ATHLETIC
ELIGIBILITY
|
In
addition to the PSAL eligibility requirements, Tech has a NO-CUT
policy.
ANY
STUDENT WHO CUTS A CLASS MAY NOT PARTICIPATE OR
WILL BE REMOVED FROM AND AM ATHLETIC TEAM. Eligibility is established
every report card.
|
PARTICIPATION
IN EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES |
EXAMPLES
Sing,
play, forensics, BTHS funded activities, etc
ALL
BTHS FUNDED EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITY PARTICIPANTS MUST MEET THE SAME
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS AS ATHLETES.
Seniors
require approval from the Dean's Office (a satisfactory disciplinary
record), no grade below 50 and must meet the graduation requirements to
attend the prom, senior trip, and graduation ceremonies.
|
CAPTURED
LUNCH PERIODS
|
Periods
4-7 are designated lunch periods at Tech. Students may use the 7th floor
cafeteria, 5th floor library or work in an office during this time.
|

DRESS CODE |
Students
are advised that all are to dress in a responsible manner, appropriate for
an education environment. Appropriate attire covers the torso and consists
of pants/shorts/skirts that are longer than mid-thigh in length. While not
required, we do recommend wearing shirts/blouses with collars. Student may
also wish to refer to the Student's Rights and Responsibilites pamphlet.
