[MoM]Dr.Evil's favorite map is Militia. Counter Strike - Map Analysis - Militia Public Tactics for ... cs_Militia Map summary... This map is generally seen asone of the best Counter-Strike maps in the game,
due to its balance of game play, and need for various types of skill within a player.
It mixes sniping, indoor combat and also long range rifle combat.
Hostage Locations:
Hostages are located in two separate areas, which are not very far apart. The first two are located in the kitchen area, close to the door to the garage. The other two are found within the garage, closer to the garage door, and by the stairs to the garage loft. Terrorist Tactics for a lone Players: Terrorists have a few tactics which should work successfully. They are : Sniping, Camping within the compound, and Rushing. Starting off : On the first round, Ts should go down the stairs from the start position, and leave through the front door, and rush the CTs with their Pistols blazing. Recommended Pistol : Desert Eagle or a P228. In the next couple of rounds, a Steyr Scout should do nicely for a sniper, or even an AK-47, used to its full potential could help guard from the roof. Backyard Area: The backyard can easily be defended, as there are 3 areas which you need to watch. They are : The two sewer exits, and the side door to the house. (see Below)
Security Cameras: There are 5 Security cameras in the level. The monitors are found in the sewer end at the north west part of the level. Two of the cameras are inside the house on the bottom floor, two on the outside, at the front, and one at the end of the passage to the other ladder in the sewer, so you can tell whether CTs are coming down the tunnel in safety. This means you should have an advantage, by warning your team of CT presence in the Sewer. Sniping Areas for Ts:
After the first few rounds, you should have enough money to take up sniping. This is a pretty tricky job to do as a T, as the positions which are available do not have very much cover, you have a lot of area to cover if you are just a lone sniper, making it easy for CTs to take a shot at you without you seeing them. The best rifle for the job would most certainly be the AWP, as its single shot to kill somebody is very useful. As soon as you get away, the better. Move as quickly as you can to point 2 or 3 to take rushing CTs by surprise. Watch out for Sniping CTs from the tunnel, as you can barely see their heads.
You can also snipe from the 1st floor, at the front of the building, but there is little cover. (above Picture) Once you have taken a shot, you should duck back into cover, to reload. Strafing around the top of the roof a bit may help you stop getting hit, as well as helping find a CT to take out. Point 1 on the map is probably the most vulnerable, as it has no cover whatsoever, but it does have one advantage; which is best used when wearing the Guerilla skin, as it is a good form of camouflage against the canyon walls. Any CTs rushing wont think to look twice at a rock wall. Point 4 acts as a cover for the points 2 and 3, as CTs who get past the main open area, can hide behind the large rock wall. These CTs can then take out Ts on the roof easily, making point 4 is a good position to stop CTs from actually getting to the building. If you find that there are too many CTs coming at you at once, or that there is a better sniper on the CT team, don't be on the roof, as you can easily be taken out by a number of CTs firing in your direction. When Things are going Well: If your team seems to be winning more than the CTs, you Snipers should stick to AWPs, and stick to the roof. Also, if you are good with a rifle like the AK-47 or a Sig-552, you should rush the CTs, taking them out quickly. If there is a lot of your team taking the front, or the roof, don't forget the back yard, rush the sewers. If the lights are off, there is most probably a CT or two coming round the corner. A rifle and a couple of grenades are probably the best way to take them out. Make sure you try and get another member of your team to cover you, as if you are on your own, you wont have another team mate to call for backup. When Things are Going Not So Well: If your team seems to lose every round, keep within inside of the building. Move hostages into the loft of the garage (see Below)
Don't break any windows, or open as few doors as possible. Find a good place to then camp, preferably in the garage, watching the grating, and covering all ways into the downstairs area. You can tell, if you have stereo speakers, where noises are coming from. That's why you shouldn't break windows, as some CTs may drop from the roof, or come through one of the doors. Stick to a position where you can get cover from flash bangs and also from CTs firing through walls. Final Notes: Take a good look through Both of these tactic walkthroughs, as you can easily learn the CTs tactics from just reading the CT section. Counter-Terrorist Tactics for Lone Players: Counter-Terrorists have a bit of a job on their hands when it comes to infiltrating the front yard. You should be able to move fast, and should have a pretty good aim for long distance shots. Skilled snipers are usually required in the open, starting positions really. Remember that the rescue point for hostages is right back at the starting position. Starting Off: Just like for Ts, Buy powerful guns (Desert Eagles or P228s), and rush. There will probably be a large gun battle ahead, due to most players rushing towards the opposing forces start location. Smaller rifles are the best choice when coming up against Ts on the building. A Steyr Scout, or a M4A1 could kill a T nicely, remembering Ts have a lot of open area to cover, meaning that they cant cover all places at one time, making rushing a favorable tactic against snipers. Later On in the Game: Later on, you should be using an AWP for taking out snipers, and using a Steyr Aug for closer combat. Flash bangs and smoke grenades should be used within the building as hostages can be killed by HE grenades. Tactics When entering through Bottleneck areas: Generally, you should try and enter the inner building from either the front or back door, going down the stairs from the 1st floor, or entering through the garage. Whenever opening a door, chuck a flash bang in, and if you think there is a T behind a door, switch to a gun which will fire through walls, and fire. If you want to get into the garage, without being heard, due to the loud crashing noise the broken grate makes, wait until you hear a load of machinegun fire, or get a teammate to make a distraction, and while that is happening, disguise the breaking grate in with the fire. Sniping Areas for CTs:
Skilled snipers are needed if you wish to counter the Ts snipers (if there are any) on the roof. As soon as you start, move to point 1, where you can easily see the edge of the roof, where -T sniping position 2- is located. Move to position 2, keeping an eye out for Ts on their positions 2, 3 and 1. Once it is clear, move quickly to point 3, and then point 4, taking out any lone Ts on the roof. Your team, if this went right, should be clear to enter the building. Give the radio command "Sector Clear", or tell you team to "Go Go Go". When Things are going Well: Stick to powerful rifles and grenades. If Ts are losing, they generally will camp within the building, or on the roof. Always check the sewers, behind any boxes. When Things aren't going Well: Buy cheap sub-machineguns,
such as a MP5, and rush any snipers. Running at a sniper with a machinegun
will make the sniper panic, and probably lose. |
