		INTRODUCTION

	The moon is the ruler of Cancer, a water sign, signified by emotional feelings. The moon is responsible for lighting up the darker side of our consciousness and influences our instinctive and intuitive reactions. This also shows up the characteristics that a person has inherited from their parents and previous generations. The moon has, until recent times been the driving force of most civilisations and in fact many, including the Arabs, the Indians and the Chinese devised very elaborate lunar calenders
